The Mandarin orange, also known as the mandarin or mandarine, is a small citrus tree (Citrus reticulata) with fruit resembling other oranges. Some sources indicate that the original Japanese orange imported into North America became known as the "Mandarin orange" as a result of hostilities during World War II. Other sources indicate that they gained their names from the bright orange robes worn by the mandarins, public officials in imperial China. Mandarin oranges are usually eaten plain or in fruit salads. Specifically reddish-orange mandarin cultivars can be marketed as tangerines, but this is not a botanical classification. When exporting began, local Mandarin oranges were named after their port of origin.

The tree is more drought-tolerant than the fruit. The mandarin is tender, and is damaged easily by cold. It can be grown in tropical and subtropical areas.

The mandarin orange is a variety of the orange family.

Citrus fruits are usually self-fertile (needing only a bee to move pollen within the same flower) or parthenocarpic (not needing pollination and therefore seedless, such as the satsuma).

It was a balmy -15C in Toronto today and will be about the same tomorrow (oh wait, its technically already tomorrow as I write this.... ah well, I already thought of what I was gonna write down so I'm not gonna change it now!!) The weather here makes me wanna go somewhere warm and just lie down under the sun.

This was taken this past summer in Banbury Beach in Long Island, New York. I was a tad bored and decided to play around with filters, I think I had about 5 filters at this point.... a UV filter, a polarizer, an ND2, ND4, and ND8 filter.... yes.. i have a filter addiction... lol

Was it supposed to happen? I've just been playing video games. Please comment and fave. 59

I've had a cold (allergies maybe) the past few days and have not been feeling to well. This is why I haven't really been posting. Also I freaking HATE runny noses. 164

Taking the camera from an air conditioned room in our hotel to the outside humidity after a rain shower creates a natural foggy vignette on the lens.

Golden Grunge Textures using grungy textures from other collections. These were generated by using linear burns on multple layers, adding a base gradient filter and finally adding a strong vignette. A fairly easy process but creates a very good texture for layering on images.

This is a wonderful cherub plant stand. I have had him for at least 10 years now. I am constantly changing the items he is holding!lol

This is a little vignette which is supposed to be poolside. There are four figures in the bottle which is filled with "water". The bottle is a regular water or soda bottle, about 9 inches tall.

A closer look at the vehicles featured in my Rainbow Outposts series, including the covered wagon from the Western Outpost and the tractor from the City Farm Outpost. I've been itching to use more cloth elements in my MOCs since I used them in my Pirate Outposts, and I thought using the orange beach blanket from the Volkswagen bug in a covered wagon for my Western Outpost was a good place to start. As for the tractor, I knew from the beginning that you can't have a farm without a tractor. I wanted to build it with green parts to look like a John Deere tractor, but I didn't have the right parts in green so I had to improvise. I'll be racing both of these in the Wacky Racers competitions at BBTB and Brickslopes this year (2017 for people reading this later)

A vignette I made of a blue hyacinth spotted while on holiday a few years ago

I don't have a lot of time to build today... Instead of not uploading a vig I made one on LDD. I really don't like LDD but it's better than nothing. 231

First test with gimp. The back ground is all white, and the flex tube isn't actually cut I just painted over it. For my first time ever using gimp I think it looks okay, but please tell me what you think. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZIJhQwi9xA 142

Afortunadamente, el accidente fue en el otro tobillo. Si llega a ser en éste, la cicatriz me habría cortado el tatuaje en dos. ¿Y qué hace una con parte de su identidad rota?

Fortunately, the accident was in the other ankle. If it had been in this one, the scar would have torn my tatto apart. And what would I do with a piece of my identity broken?

... I could cook my breakfast on the sidewalk! Please comment and fave. 69
