This image was shot on location at Whitesheet Hill in Wiltshire. The mixture of the light and the passing clouds helped to create excellent conditions for landscape photography as the light and shadows battled for control and in doing so helping to reveal subjects within the background.
Feedback would be appreciated. Viewpoint overlooking Cumberland Forest. In this image, I allowed for some closer foliage in the foreground pointing towards the forest as opposed to the prior image which focused solely on the layers and mist. I'm wondering if this picture feels cluttered with the foreground or does it give more of a sense of place? Cumberland Forest, Kentucky, USA, October 2014

The ruins of Landshut Castle loom over Bernkastel. Dates of the castle will all the way back to the 9th Century. From the castle you have a captivating view of the awe-inspiring Moselle valley and the vast expanse. Below you can see the picturesque old town, the sprawling district of Kues, Andel and Wehlen in the distance, not to mention the numerous boats and vessels cruising leisurely along the Moselle. The castle, along with all of its treasures, was destroyed by a fire in 1692. However, it is still possible to climb the castle tower. The ruins are surrounded by various paths, offering visitors a range of leisurely hiking routes. The Hunsrück mountain range with its deep forests and gorges is also easy to reach from here and well worth exploring.
Ruin of the 13th-century Castle of Landshut in Germany overlook Bernkastel in the vineyards on the slopes of the valley. The castle was was accidentally ravaged by a fire in 1692. It offers one of the best viewpoint on the town and the Moselle river.

Ze zijn bijna allemaal met de auto, maar ook te voet door heerlijke wandelgebieden te bereiken. Bernkastel-Kues is een plaats in de Duitse deelstaat Rijnland-Palts, en maakt deel uit van het district Bernkastel-Wittlich. Het stadje ligt langs de Moezel. Het stadje is een toeristische trekpleister in de Moezelvallei en bestaat uit twee delen: Bernkastel op de rechteroever en Kues op de linkeroever. Beide delen zijn verbonden met een brug over de Moezel. Boven Bernkastel verheft zich de ruïne van Burg Landshut, een voormalige zomerresidentie van de Trierse aartsbisschoppen. Men kan een bezoek brengen aan de toren en genieten van een heerlijke blik op de terrassen van het Moezeldal.

Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint is located in a cove at the mouth of Cape Creek in Lane County, Oregon. There are picnic tables sheltered from the wind and a great view of the ocean. A short trail leads to the historic Heceta Head lighthouse and assistant keeper's house.
Heceta Head trail is part of a 7-mile network. Trails of varying difficulty feature beach and wildlife viewing areas. Wildlife refuge islands feature a view of common murres, cormorants, gulls, and other bird nesting areas. Sea lions and whales can be seen from the beach and cliff-top lighthouse.
On the west side of 1,000-foot-high Heceta Head, 205 feet above the ocean, the lighthouse is one of the most photographed on the coast. The light at top of 56-foot tower was illuminated in 1894; the automated beacon, seen 21 miles from land, is rated as the strongest light on the Oregon coast. The historic assistant lighthouse keeper's house (Heceta House; built 1893) offers bed and breakfast rentals and facilities for group events. Die Saarschleife, Durchbruchstal der Saar durch den Taunusquarzit, gehört zu den bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten des Saarlandes. Die schönste Ansicht bietet der Aussichtspunkt Cloef im Mettlacher Ortsteil Orscholz, 180 m hoch über dem Fluss. Auch unmittelbar vom Saarufer aus bieten sich imposante Ausblicke. Steil zerklüftete Felswände wechseln mit Schutthalden und kleinen Schluchten ab.
Die Saarschleife beginnt kurz hinter Merzig beim Stadtteil Besseringen und endet in Mettlach. Die Luftlinie zwischen Besseringen und Mettlach beträgt nur etwa zwei Kilometer. Die Saar macht einen romantischen "Umweg", der nahezu zehn Kilometer beträgt.
Auf dem bewaldeten Bergrücken innerhalb der Saarschleife befinden sich die Kirche St. Gangolf mit Teilen der ehemaligen Klosteranlage und die Burgruine Montclair. Einziger Ort in der Saarschleife ist das Dorf Dreisbach, wohin man mit einer Fähre übersetzen kann.
Die Saarschleife gilt als das Wahrzeichen des Saarlandes. Ins Rampenlicht rückte sie immer wieder, wenn Staatsoberhäupter sich dort einfanden: Friedrich Wilhelm IV., König von Preußen besuchte den Aussichtspunkt Cloef mit Blick auf die Saarschleife am 29. September 1856. Adolf Hitler besichtigte sie am 16. Mai 1939. Der Bundeskanzler Konrad Adenauer traf sich dort am 25. Juni 1965 mit saarländischen Politikern. Oskar Lafontaine und Gerhard Schröder wurden am 4. August 1997 an der Cloef mediengerecht mit der Saarschleife ins Bild gesetzt. Der französische Präsident Jacques Chirac und der polnische Präsident Lech Kaczynski trafen sich an der Saarschleife zum Dreiergipfel mit Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel am 5. Dezember 2006.

EN: In the first light of the day the morning train 360 Thessaloniki - Sofia crosses Strimon river and arrives to Strimon station. The first car is the direct sleeper from Athens. In Strimon the loco turns around and the train will be seen directly at the viewpoint of the photographer, when it continues to the bulgarian border.

DE: Im ersten Licht des Tages quert der Morgenzug 360 Thessaloniki - Sofia den Fluss Strimon und wird gleich den Bahnhof Strimon erreichen. Der erste Wagen hinter der Lok ist der Schlafkurswagen von Athen. Im Bf Strimon findet ein Lokumlauf statt, und kurz darauf fährt der Zug nahe am Fotostandpunkt vorbei in Richtung bulgarische Grenze.

A secretary bird (Sagittarius serpentarius) standing on top of a thorny bush in the grass plains of the Serengeti. This species is a large, mostly terrestrial bird of prey. Endemic to Africa, it is usually found in the open grasslands and savanna of the sub-Saharan region.
The photo was taken in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, using an M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro lens @75mm.
