Carn Galver Mine, St. just, Cornwall
The name Carn Galver means rockpile at the lookout place. There is a small pumping and a whim engine house on the St Just - St Ives coastal road (B3306). The mine was worked until 1878. It was restored twenty ago by the National Trust. This mine was never really productive and suffered from drainage problems.

This is the view from the East end of Upper Duck Island (looking West), on the Ottawa River, a place I like to kayak to. On the right you see two smoke stacks from a paper mill in Gatineau, Quebec. Ottawa is on the left of this island (but you can't see it).

Bear Hill Preserve in Cragsmoor, NY
Sunset coincided perfectly with a thunderstorm passing through creating exciting conditions. I was able to capture a few exposures before the rain swept through my area. The benefit of this being such short hike I suppose.
