This is the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. A very impressive church that can be seen from the Red Square. This time we walked next to it and managed to get this common shot.

The common myna (Acridotheres tristis), sometimes spelled mynah, also sometimes known as "Indian myna", is a member of the family Sturnidae (starlings and mynas) native to Asia. An omnivorous open woodland bird with a strong territorial instinct, the myna has adapted extremely well to urban environments.

Young man fishing on a cold and windy Spring day in Foz do Arelho, in Portugal
Fishing is a major economic activity in Portugal. The country has a long tradition in the sector, and is among the countries in the world with the highest fish consumption per capita.

As the light fades and the city begins to glow, the game continues.
On Brazilian beaches, football doesn’t belong to a clock or a stadium, it stretches through the day and quietly spills into the night. Bare feet on wet sand, improvised goals, laughter and arguments carried by the sea breeze. The skyline watches from afar while the rhythm of the game stays close to the ground.
Here, football is not an event. It’s a habit, a language, a shared pulse. Long after the sun sets, the beach remains a pitch, and the match goes on.

Back in Brazil again and I love the monochrome takes of the beach during sun down. The add this extra shadows that are hard to miss. Paradise background with local people.

Late afternoon heading to Professor Creek Canyon 20 miles northeast of Moab, UT
While sunset in the canyon was a bit underwhelming due to dense cloud cover, the drive out on Professor Valley Road made for an interesting image. Using a long lens to compress the scene was the best way to show off the landscape of the long desert road, canyons and La Sal mountains in the distance.

I wish I had taken with me my 300mm. This is the most I could do with my 105mm to get the full moon (supermoon) of this week in Dubai. Notice how red it is and how big!. Amazing experience to see the moon like that.

We had a quick break in the Canary Islands and we spent some time watching the students learn to surf. It was an amazing thing to see from zero to actually ride a wave.

Fall is close upon us, there are only two more days of summer left.
It has been a long week. I'm off from work for three weeks to spend time with my new son and family. Hopefully I will get a chance to take the camera out to capture the changing colors.

Beautiful views from one of the known places in Oia. Picture of the cross in Oia during sunset. We were heading off to the castle to catch better views there and we stopped for a second to take a nice picture of the cross over the city.

Carn Galver Mine, St. just, Cornwall
The name Carn Galver means rockpile at the lookout place. There is a small pumping and a whim engine house on the St Just - St Ives coastal road (B3306). The mine was worked until 1878. It was restored twenty ago by the National Trust. This mine was never really productive and suffered from drainage problems.
