The end of the safari was of course admiring the views of the sunset in the desert. A really cool experience as to see how gradually the sun sets down and how the landscape changes. The tour is about AED 200 and it can be booked anywhere in Dubai. It's better to get the late tour as you'll be able to enjoy the dunes, the ride, the pictures, the food and the performances. The safari is usually from 4pm till 10pm and don't forget to bring your tripod.

A quiet moment with one of nature's little guardians. This beautiful toad was perfectly camouflaged among the roots, barely moving as I approached. Its textured skin and piercing green eye caught the morning light just right, a small reminder of how much wonder hides in plain sight.

Yesterday's night capture of the sun travelling towards the Shard. The helicopter on top of it definitely has a better view than I had. Not long now until I get the picture that I want with the sun on top of the Shard. Thank you all for your appreciation.

Not quite the summer many people was expecting this past weekend. Chilly and below seasonal, a few storms and some of residual rain throughout the weekend but that didn't discourage me from shooting the waterfront. I was a bit wet but oh well its only minutes away from home.
In reality the rough currents and stormy skies are nothing close to finding any sense of calmness sen here. Instead it is disguised by the "painting" of long exposure over the lake.

A 2 row Galaxy panorama from Dante's View in Death Valley National Park. This is the back side view facing South West. The Milky Way Galaxy was low on the horizon at 11:30 PM. The moon had set at about 11PM and there was enough light were I didn't need a flash light to move about. I've never experienced the Milky Way this bright and that low on the horizon. It was a treat.
I consider this angle of the Milky Way along the horizon the holy grail of galaxy shots, as it only appears this way a few times a year. The optimal moon, wind, angle of galaxy, time of night, and no clouds must all come together for this shot to happen. And in the Southern Hemisphere it comes around a few time in the summer. Which is not the ideal time for long exposure in Death Valley as temps exceed 100 degrees past midnight.
Nevertheless, as I learn more about night shooting, I hope to have more panoramas and galaxy time lapse for a 4K video project by the middle of 2017.

Perched lightly on a broad green leaf, this little Brazilian tree frog watches the world with a curious, amber-bright gaze. Soft jungle light wraps around its body, blending warm tones and fresh greens into a calm, living scene. A fleeting rainforest encounter, quiet, intimate, and full of personality.
