This structure at 21N was covered with Riftia. I'd estimate that the average tube was about a meter in length. The entire structure was about 12 meters tall.
One of the Air Raid Shelter air vents on the west side of the A259 in Hastings which is under part of an allotment i did speak with one of the gentalmen that uses the allotment and he told me that it could hold upto 600 people.

Day trip to Orford Ness and Orford Castle
Orford Ness is a vegetated shingle spit, approximately 10 miles long; it is separated from the medieval port of Orford by the River Alde.
Prior to the C20 Orford Ness was a rarely visited place; the main economic activity was animal grazing on reclaimed marsh land. In 1915 the Armament and Experimental Flight of the Royal Flying Corps (later known formally as the Aircraft Armament and Gunnery Experimental Establishment) established a flying field on King’s Marshes to the west of the ditch, now known as the Airfield Marshes, serviced by a range of ancillary buildings arranged along a single track known since 1993 as ‘The Street’, on which ran a narrow-gauge light railway which led back to the jetty. Its main areas of investigation were the evaluation and suitability of aircraft, machine guns and gun sights, bomb sights, night flying and navigation, and a huge range of research projects to solve technical difficulties encountered in action. From 1924 the airfield was re-occupied as a satellite station of the Airplane and Armament Experimental Establishment based at Martlesham Heath. During their tenure, a number of structures were constructed on Orford Beach. Due to its remoteness one of the main activities at Orford Ness was the investigation of bomb ballistics; the study of the flight of objects moving under their own momentum and the force of gravity. Other experimental work continued into the inter-war period on Orford Ness. In 1935, a small experimental radar team arrived and conducted experiments that were critical in proving the value of this technology, turning the theory into a practical air defence system. Between 1953 and 1971, the spit was occupied by the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment. Its primary task was environmental testing to simulate the conditions that nuclear weapons and their components might experience during trials and in service use. Here science and high politics merged, with investigations that were crucial to the credibility of the United Kingdom’s nuclear deterrent forces, the cornerstone of Cold War defence policy...
...With the introduction of the WE177 and the Polaris system, there was relatively little new work in prospect and in April 1969 the decision was announced to close Orford Ness and to move many of its functions to Aldermaston. The last trial took place on 9 June 1971and the establishment closed on Friday 1 October 1971. On 24 July 1972 Orford Ness formally passed from AWRE to No.2 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit of the RAF. In the following decades they worked to clear the range of unexploded munitions and brought other munitions on to the spit for destruction. This work ceased about 1986, although many unexploded munitions still remain on Orford Ness, and some limited work may have carried on here until the early 1990s. Following negotiations with the Ministry of Defence, the National Trust acquired Orford Ness in 1993.

The Red-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus cafer) is a member of the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is resident breeder in tropical southern Asia from India and Sri Lanka east to Burma and southwestern China.It is easily identified by its short crest giving the head a squarish appearance. The body is dark brown with a scaly pattern while the head is darker or black. The rump is white while the vent is red.

La convocatoria empezó oficialmente hoy y los bienes deberán ser entregados en mayo próximo
El presidente de la República, Martin Vizcarra, y el ministro de la Producción, Raúl Pérez-Reyes, anunciaron hoy en Villa El Salvador que con el objetivo de dinamizar las ventas de las micro y pequeñas empresas (mypes) el Comité Organizador de los XVIII Juegos Panamericanos y Sextos Juegos Parapanamericanos del 2019 adquirirá bienes por cerca de S/11 millones a estas unidades empresariales.
Pérez-Reyes sostuvo que estas transacciones, que incluirán bienes mobiliarios de metal, melamine y madera, se realizarán a través de la medida de reactivación económica Compras a MYPErú.
“Se creará un Núcleo Ejecutor de Compras, que tendrá un comité con representantes de PRODUCE, MIDIS, la Sociedad Nacional de Industrias (SIN), los Juegos Panamericanos y de los gremios de las mypes, el cual garantizará la calidad y oportuna entrega de los bienes a producir.
El NEC realizará la supervisión técnica desde antes que las mypes inicie el proceso de fabricación, evaluando criterios de formalidad, experiencia y capacidad técnico productiva.
El titular de PRODUCE indicó que la convocatoria a las mypes para postular como proveedores de los bienes a adquirir se realizará desde hoy 15 de febrero. Asimismo, resaltó que la producción deberá entregarse a partir del mes de mayo.
“Le estamos dando a las mypes la oportunidad de abrirse un nuevo mercado y diversificar sus ingresos. Como Gobierno estamos comprometidos en su crecimiento”.
Junto a los titulares de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Edmer Trujillo; Desarrollo e Inclusión Social, Liliana La Rosa, y el presidente del Comité Organizador de los XVIII Juegos Panamericanos y Sextos Juegos Parapanamericanos del 2019, Carlos Neuhaus, el presidente de la República, Martin Vizcarra, y el ministro Raúl Pérez-Reyes pudieron observar en el CITEMadera de Villa El Salvador los bienes que son solicitados para el evento deportivo desde el mes de julio en la capital.
Entre los bienes se puede mencionar: camarotes de metal, lockers, armarios, archivadores, anaqueles, cajones, mesas de noche y centro, bancos de madera, sofás de madera, camillas, escritorios de melamines, tendedores de ropa, entre otros.
Nuevas compras
El ministro Pérez-Reyes explicó que desde su creación en el 2009, 14 mil MYPE han participado en Compras a MYPErú, por un monto superior a los S/1.000 millones en las adquisiciones.
En ese sentido, destacó que en el 2018 un cambio normativo permitió que esta medida se amplíe a todas las entidades estatales, las cuales pueden adquirir bienes de los subsectores: confecciones-textiles, calzado, muebles de madera y metal mecánica.
Por ello, sostuvo que existen posibilidades de crearse nuevos NEC que beneficien a más mypes. “Esperamos retomar conversaciones con el Minsa, Minedu y Mininter para atender sus necesidades de bienes”, finalizó.

I don't know if that was a bridge or an observation platform or what. The whole area was closed, and I probably should have stayed out. The steam was shooting out of that vent like a small, constant geyser. It was actually a little scary how powerful it sounded.
