La economÃa en general siempre me llama la atención, y este es el caso de la globalización, una parte de ella que nos ha hecho "romper fronteras" respecto a la transferencia de bienes y servicios más allá de los mercados domésticos, tema del que surge otro muy interesante, con la presencia cada vez más significativa de compañÃas extranjeras en Chile, como es el caso -por ejemplo- de Walmart, que en el año 2009 realizó una de las inversiones mas grandes que algún inversionista extranjero haya realizado en Chile, con la adquisición del 75% (en forma sucesiva) de la operación de Distribución & Servicio (D&S), antigua matriz de los Hipermercados Lider (entre otros formatos), por alrededor de US$ 3,000 millones.
Una cuantiosa inversión que permitió a la Estadounidense manejar con soltura la operación de la compañÃa Chilena, que posteriormente pasó a denominarse Walmart Chile, que comprende hasta el momento cuatro distintos formatos, los cuales son:
- Lider (Hipermercados, entre 4,000 y 13,000 metros cuadrados)
- Express de Lider (Supermercados entre 1,000 y 4,500 metros cuadrados)
- Super Bodega ACuenta (HÃbrido de bodega mayorista y supermercado, entre 2,500 y 3,000 metros cuadrados) y...
- Ekono (Supermercados de conveniencia, con salas menores a 500 metros cuadrados)
Tiendas que están repartidas en todo Chile (a excepción del formato Ekono, concentrado en la zona Central de Chile), y que han ido experimentando las transformaciones naturales que cualquier cadena experimenta con un nuevo controlador, y que trasciende a las inversiones en logÃstica, mejoras operacionales y otros, como también en la percepción que el cliente tiene de la salas de venta, que en este caso, se refleja en el uso de la nueva imagen corporativa de las salas de venta de Lider (Hipermercados) con los colores y el sol de Walmart (el mismo empleado en otros paÃses como Estados Unidos, México, Argentina, entre otros).
Para emplear la nueva imagen se seleccionó al Hipermercado ubicado en la Ciudad de San Antonio (Región de ValparaÃso), el cual si bien en el interior ya era prácticamente igual a los anteriores (durante el 2011 se estandarizó la imagen de las salas de venta) tiene algunos elementos que le entregan una clara diferencia con los anteriores. Es un Hipermercado relativamente pequeño (5,000 m2 es más que suficiente para una ciudad de aproximadamente 120,000 habitantes) y es muy probable que el segundo lugar en emplear esta nueva imagen se ubique en Santiago, en el local de Matucana esquina Mapocho, comuna de Quinta Normal.

This is an old vent on the side of Capulin. The small hill is a spatter vent, formed by blobs of molten lava thrown off from the vent.
The trees are juniper and pinon pine.
Did not really like the look of the copper cap I made for this the first time. Did one from alloy and drilled it for some air flow.
A hydrothermal vent is a fissure in a planet's surface from which geothermally heated water issues. Hydrothermal vents are commonly found near volcanically active places, areas where tectonic plates are moving apart, ocean basins, and hotspots. Hydrothermal vents exist because the earth is both geologically active and has large amounts of water on its surface and within its crust. Common land types include hot springs, fumaroles and geysers. Under the sea, hydrothermal vents may form features called black smokers. Relative to the majority of the deep sea, the areas around submarine hydrothermal vents are biologically more productive, often hosting complex communities fueled by the chemicals dissolved in the vent fluids. Chemosynthetic bacteria and archaea form the base of the food chain, supporting diverse organisms, including giant tube worms, clams, limpets and shrimp. Active hydrothermal vents are believed to exist on Jupiter's moon Europa, and ancient hydrothermal vents have been speculated to exist on Mars.

Beryl Spring is an active, attractive thermal feature along the west side of the Gibbon River. The very small basin is part of the Formation Hot Springs group of thermal features, most of which are on the east side of the river. The site, within a 5-second stroll from the disproportionately generous parking area, is especially easy to visit.
The water spouting from Beryl's red-coned vent, slightly uphill from the spring-proper, is "super-heated" meaning it achieves boiling temperatures while underground, but cannot actually "boil" - vaporize via bubbles - due to high atmospheric pressure conditions within Beryl's "plumbing." When it finally reaches the vent it bubbles vigorously and makes a rapid, steaming escape with an unbroken loud hiss.
The color of the pool is reminiscent of its namesake aquamarine gem. The feature is a crowd-pleaser!
Vent time
I no longer feel attractive. I've been thinking about this a lot. In the past, although I had MANY insecurities, if someone were to ask me if I knew I was beautiful, the answer would be yes. Although I didn't always feel beautiful, I always knew that other people found me attractive, and that I was an attractive girl. Factually.
Now i don't feel I am at all. Whatsoever. When I look in the mirror, a pretty girl doesn't look back. I don't remember the last time I genuinely felt beautiful.
This year has been hard on me. I've never felt so close to giving up. Because everything has happened one thing after the other, my relationship has also suffered greatly. I feel my SO, has lost a great amount of respect for me, because I've been jobless so long. I honestly don't think he finds me attractive any longer, either. I think He would like me to work my ass off until I am as stressed and worn out as he. He loves hard working, motivated and ambitious females. I have been none of those things. My goal in life isn't to live up to his expectations, obviously. But knowing he doesn't find me attractive,(he'd never say it) also makes me find myself even less attractive. I've stopped trying with makeup or clothes. What used to be me in lingerie, and pretty dresses, is now me in sweats. The energy to shower is difficult to come by.
I have always said I had little respect for women who sit on their asses all day and do nothing. It's ugly. And he's stood by me through it. But he often reminds me I'm not doing enough. Not ever. Never enough. My sex life is non existent and the idea of romance is laughable. A few days ago was our 5 year anniversary and I don't think we even talked to each other.
2016 has tried to kill me.
I lost my job, my dogs BOTH died. (Yes 2 of them) I had to give up my passion due to lack of money. I've developed an anxiety disorder that makes driving difficult and dangerous for me. I've had to move back in with my mom which is something I always said I'd never do. I now have a concussion which is ruining any plans, goals and ambitions I DID have. I start working out and GAINED weight. I'm basically planning on my s.o leaving me because that would simply be the icing on the cake for 2016.
I'm REALLY strugging to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not trying to whine, or be a victim but the election has me worried whether on not we'll even be around to see 2017.
To SEE the heat go large!

At historic RAF Ventnor - a radar station established in 1937 to warn of German aircraft and flying bombs approaching across the channel. The station played an important part in the Battle of Britain and Ventnor was heavily bombed in 1940. The site is now used by National Air Traffic Services to communicate with civil aviation.
