Peternoster Vents

L’énergie du vent a toujours été utilisée et les moulins couvraient Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire jusqu’au XIXe siècle. Une nouvelle fresque, à la Martellière, en rappelle l’existence.

Diana Taubin Stvolinsky, argentino-espagnole, sociétaire de l’université de Buenos Aires, spécialisée en architecture et en urbanisme, a débuté la peinture murale avec son père à l’âge de 10 ans. Véritable passion familiale, elle a, depuis 1988, peint près de 200 fresques en Amérique latine et 80 en Espagne. Peindre en France a été une première pour elle.

I downloaded a free trial version of Photoshop Elements last night and it's been driving me nuts!! Either I'm a dork (do NOT answer...) or it's nowhere near as easy as Lightroom. It's taken me hours (yes, hours!) just to replace the cloudy sky in this shot of a Swiss vent and add a thin border....

Tips, advice, lessons, references, etc - I need everything and anything to help me survive this intrepid journey..........

Face au vent

L'esplanade des moulins à Allauch à 228 mètres d'altitude, 5 moulins qui dominent la rade de Marseille. Pour la petite anecdote : Autrefois situés au cœur du village, ils ont déménagé lorsque la construction de l'église Saint-Sébastien leur a coupé le vent.

In front of wind

The Allauch's mills place, 228 meters, 5 Mills which dominate the Marseille's harbour. PS : At the beginning, mills was in the center of the village, they moved when the Saint Sebastien church construction stopped the wind :)

Here's another photo of the vent in Herne Bay. I laid on my back to get this low view. The camera was fitted with a circular polarising filter to strengthen the sky saturation.

I liked the strong circular and straight lines.

Not sure what the person who designed this vent pipe configuration was thinking but it is certainly an odd and unique venting system.
