This Steely-vented Hummingbird was one of several hummingbird species visiting the gardens on Arenal Observatory Lodge during our visit to Costa Rica last month. It was such a pleasure to wander the gardens photographing these little beauties.

VOLE AU VENT (IMO: 9655315) is een offshore bevoorradingsschip dat in 2013 werdgebouwd en vaart onder de vlag van Luxemburg.
Het draagvermogen is 8265 t DWT en haar huidige diepgang is naar verluidt 8,6 meter. Haar lengte overall (LOA) is 140,29 meter en haar breedte is 41.24 meter.

As you can see this vent pipe rises through the 'Rossendale stone' flags; it provides air changes to a basement wholly below ground level.
It rests next to the stone plinth of a house built in 1897.
If you look closely you can see where the damp proof injection has been carried out in the stonework, to prevent rising damp.
The sand & cement mortar joint at the junction between the pipe and the stone flags has cracked due to weather, and expansion and contraction of the plastic.

Face au vent
L'esplanade des moulins à Allauch à 228 mètres d'altitude, 5 moulins qui dominent la rade de Marseille. Pour la petite anecdote : Autrefois situés au cœur du village, ils ont déménagé lorsque la construction de l'église Saint-Sébastien leur a coupé le vent.

The Allauch's mills place, 228 meters, 5 Mills which dominate the Marseille's harbour. PS : At the beginning, mills was in the center of the village, they moved when the Saint Sebastien church construction stopped the wind :)
I downloaded a free trial version of Photoshop Elements last night and it's been driving me nuts!! Either I'm a dork (do NOT answer...) or it's nowhere near as easy as Lightroom. It's taken me hours (yes, hours!) just to replace the cloudy sky in this shot of a Swiss vent and add a thin border....
Tips, advice, lessons, references, etc - I need everything and anything to help me survive this intrepid journey..........
