Shallots are preferred by posh cuisinary people. They have slight advantage over onions where they are used raw. They are sweeter and milder than onions, but much more expensive.
A quick shot as the light faded of some roasted butternut squash and brussels sprouts I thought looked nice.

I grow small amounts of fruit & vegetables between the flowers in my town garden. Definitely not a farm, but the closest I can find for ODC. I love Jeanne's quote: "to plant a seed is to believe in tomorrow". I'd add to that, as I find it brings back wonderful memories too - being with my dad in the garden, learning from him how to care for plants. In winter, just occasionally having some loganberries or other treat, carefully frozen the previous summer & bringing back warm memories on a cold dreary day.

This market is usually busy all days especially in the evenings. Due to the location of the market, an open street market between railway station and bus stand, people who pass by get to see all fresh vegetables available at competitive prices.
Have you eaten all of your vegetables today?
The little lady did! She must know something ;)
I could not take a shot when they were steamy.
