Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment capture a 'high-value prisoner during a raid on an 'enemy' camp at the Tully Training Area during Exercise Hamel 2014.

Exercise Hamel 2014 (7 July – 1 August 2014) is the Australian Army’s annual Foundation War-fighting exercise designed to assess and certify both the 6th Combat Support Brigade and 3rd Brigade with their assigned Force Elements as having the necessary skills to conduct future operations.

Around 5,000 personnel are taking part in the 25-day exercise, including troops from the New Zealand Defence Force, United States Army and United States Marine Corps along with members from across the wider Australian Defence Force.

Exercise Hamel 2014 is currently being conducted throughout the Atherton Tablelands and various Defence Training Areas in North Queensland. The Australian Army’s mission is to provide the Australian Government with a ready, relevant and agile land force.

Today's launch of the war of aggression against Iran is yet another chapter in a series of serious violations of international law. In a display of obvious megalomania, the US leadership has christened its military strike ‘Operation Epic Fury’. In just a few days, it will become clear that ‘decapitation strikes’ cannot force the Iranian leadership to surrender!

The photo was taken in early 2009 during protests against Israel's military action against Gaza.

In the Young Women organization of the LDS church, girls age 12-18 years old are encouraged to set worthwhile goals, and complete projects in each of 8 categories. Each of those categories, or values, is assigned a color.

White = Faith

Blue = Divine Nature

Red = Individual Worth

Green = Knowledge

Orange = Choice and Accountability

Yellow = Good Works

Purple = Integrity

Gold = Virtue

I have the privilege of working with the fine young women in our congregation, and I made this for them.

So far, I'm happy with the value progression. I try to have some fabrics in each group that are a bit lighter or darker than the majority. I've also cut some of the plaids and stripes on the bias to add some motion. The red centers are getting darker as I go out on the rounds. The brightest yellow stripe is from the scraps left over from making my forty-year-old daughter a jumper when she was a toddler!

BENCHED IN SEATTLE WA

Photo of restored cold house (foreground), southern stone building, water tower, windmill and pump house, Camp Gap Ranch, February 1, 2017, by Greg Shine, BLM.

Camp Gap Ranch, preserved and protected today by the Bureau of Land Management, was one of the original camps established in the 1930s to support President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Civilian Conservation Corps.

The Civilian Conservation Corps was created in 1933 as a federal public works program to provide employment for out-of-work young men, particularly from the cities in the eastern United States. The Civilian Conservation Corps Camp Gap Ranch was developed in 1934.

At first a tent camp, Camp Gap Ranch was soon transformed into a more permanent facility with wood-framed barracks, kitchen and mess hall, officers’ quarters, shops, and other support buildings.

The camp was staffed by up to 200 enrollees, supervisors, and officers and operated from 1934 to 1942. The men of Camp Gap Ranch worked for the U.S. Grazing Service and built range improvements such as fences and reservoirs, drilled wells, built roads and cut vast quantities of juniper posts for fencing projects.

Most of the buildings at Camp Gap Ranch were pre-fabricated and bolted together. When World War II began in 1941, all of the wooden buildings were dismantled and moved elsewhere to support the war effort. All that remained at the camp were a few rock buildings, water tower, pump house and windmill tower, rubble rock walls, rock-lined paths, and a seemingly random assortment of concrete foundations.

After being abandoned in 1942, the remaining buildings were left to deteriorate. By the 1970s, the Bureau of Land Management began to formally recognize the historic value of the site and re-roofed the remaining camp buildings.

During the 1980s, brush was cut down and burned in order to protect the camp from wild fire. In the late 1990s, the pump house and windmill tower was reconstructed, the southern stone building was restored, and the cold house was stabilized.

Hiking, exploring and discovering the historic structures scattered across Camp Gap Ranch are popular activities. Please take care to leave the site as you found it and do not disturb buildings or rock features to remove artifacts.

Be on the lookout for ticks and rattlesnakes which are present during spring and summer. Shade is limited and temperatures at Camp Gap Ranch can reach 100 degrees in July and August. With no potable water, restroom facilities, cell phone service, or designated camping areas, travelers should bring their own conveniences.

Directions to the Site

From Burns, take Highway 20 west for approximately 40 miles to milepost 91 and turn left onto the Camp Gap Ranch entrance road.

I found all this at Value Village, all told for $72 No sets are complete, all are missing at least 1 or two minifigs, smaller items in the set, and a couple cases had some glue on them, most notable the TIE advanced. Still one heck of a deal.

8 November 2021, Kigoma, Tanzania - A man unloads fresh fish from a fishing boat carrying fresh product at the shore of the Lake Tanganyika in Kigoma, Tanzania .

Lake Tanganyika is the world’s second largest lake by volume with borders in Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Zambia. Millions of people rely on the rich aquatic biodiversity reserves for food and income.

Yet, post-harvest losses caused by poor handling and processing techniques, as well as the impacts of climate change and poor fishing methods are threatening the future of fishing on the lake. Illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing is a further cause of declining yields.

In Tanzania, FISH4ACP aims to strengthen and safeguard the sardine, sprat and perch value chains in Lake Tanganyika by investing in inclusive growth to bolster food security for future generations, reduce poverty and contribute to the conservation of natural resources.

FISH4CP is an initiative of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (OACPS) implemented by FAO with funding from the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

IO NON MI LASCIO FREGARE

#iononmilasciofregare

Questo appello nasce dalla volontà di ricordare cosa è successo il 19 novembre 2015 a Verona...un appello che abbiamo scritto a più mani in maniera ANONIMA e che vuole essere una "chiamata alle armi" per amici artisti di buona volontà.

IN BREVE

www.facebook.com/iononmilasciofregare/

sarà nostra cura farle girare il più possibile perchè #iononmifacciofregare

Ecco la lista dei nostri 17 capolavori da adottare:

1 Antonio Pisano detto Pisanello, Madonna col bambino

2 Jacopo Bellini, San Girolamo penitente

3 Andrea Mantegna, Sacra Famiglia

4 Giovanni Francesco Caroto, Ritratto di giovane con disegno infantile

5 Giovanni Francesco Caroto, Ritratto di giovane monaco benedettino

6 Jacopo Tintoretto, Madonna allattante

7 Jacopo Tintoretto, Trasporto dell’arca dell’alleanza

8 Jacopo Tintoretto, Banchetto di Baltassar

9 Jacopo Tintoretto, Sansone

10 Jacopo Tintoretto, Giudizio di Salomone

11 Cerchia di Jacopo Tintoretto, Ritratto maschile

12 Domenico Tintoretto, Ritratto di Marco Pasqualigo

13 Bottega di Domenico Tintoretto, Ritratto di ammiraglio veneziano

14 Peter Paul Rubens, Dama delle licnidi

15 Hans de Jode, Paesaggio

16 Hans de Jode, Porto di mare

17 Giovanni Benini, Ritratto di Girolamo Pompei

I WON'T GET SCREWED OVER

# Iononmilasciofregare

This call arises from the desire to remember what happened on Nov. 19, 2015 in Verona, a call that we have written many hands in an ANONYMOUS way and that wants to be a "call of duty" for artist friends and people of good will.

THE FACT

17 works of great value were stolen from the Museum of Castelvecchio: Tintoretto, Mantegna, Rubens just to mention a few painters, basically a real small museum (photos of stolen works can be found in our album to this address: https: //www.facebook.com/media/set/....)

The operation lasted nearly an hour and a half and it was carried out with extreme calm. A real scandal! A few words spoken by the media after the incident, the institutions have staged the usual buck and the online sensibilization campaign has had little success.

A part of those extraordinary works is also MINE, is also YOURS! I want back our piece of MANTEGNA, TINTORETTO, BELLINI, etc! I do not know if you are aware of that but they are stealing our past and our FUTURE!

I do not accept it, do you? Let's transmit a signal on the streets and in the internet to keep attention focused on this case that risks to disappear without a trace.

We appeal to artist friends: what we do is painting, do not waste time, let's do it. The idea is to take each of us one of the 17 works and create a mural (or a poster or any urban installation) reinterpreting our own way the original work. Let's exploit the media interest in street art to denounce loud together this incredible theft!

We ask you to do it freely, each with their own means, each with their own abilities,

You are all invited to attend and do it in an ANONYMOUS way, without signing the works that you will leave in our cities, to speak directly to TINTORETTO, MANTEGNA, PISANELLO, etc, involving those who want to participate.

Once you did it, please send photos to this address:

iononmilasciofregare@gmail.com

or post them on this page

www.facebook.com/iononmilasciofregare/

We will spread them as much as possible, because:

B&B Appliances (3,900 square feet)

1981 E Pembroke Ave, Buckroe Shopping Center, Hampton, VA

This store opened in 1981 as Wray Appliance; it was originally part of a Western Auto, which opened in 1962 and closed in winter 1979. It became Value Home and Auto in April 1979. The "C" space on the end was a space B&B expanded into in the early 2010s. It had previously been Buckroe Beach Discount Wallpaper (opened on May 16th, 1983), Hickory Furniture Outlet (1984-1996), Tonya's Pet Center (1997), and W&B Thrift (late 2000s).

I love how saturated it is.

I did stop putting up rows and started sewing these together because I know they can get pretty tedious after a while if I leave it all to the end! Along about the fifth row, I got to thinking that it would really be fun to go dust mop the floors, so I knew it was time for a sewing break :)
