This sculpture of St. Joseph holding the child Jesus is in a meditation garden near the church at 227 SW Van Buren. Christians believe that Jesus was the child of god. Joseph, a carpenter, married Jesus’s mother, Mary, after she conceived. He raised the child as his own son.
This permanent collection exhibit wraps up an entire year of looking at how objects acquire value, from sentimental and personal objects, to objects that represent our collective, cultural heritage. As an art gallery with a growing public collection, we consider it a big responsibility when deciding which objects best represent our community as a whole: what will have everlasting value by way of story, craft, concept, or social commentary with which we might be able to mark a significant time in our collective history.
Value Added was conceived with the goal of finding common ground amidst our diverse community. We chose five categories we believe everyone, regardless of age or background, would likely agree that we collectively value: our rights, our country, our heritage, our faith, and our family. However we worship, vote, marry, love, and celebrate, these are all things that are important to many of us. The objects on display were selected to illustrate these concepts.

I think the little girl in blue was made in one of those ceramic classes, her eyes are kinda creepy!
The NHS Values Summit brings together a diverse range of people and perspectives to create a greater understanding of how people’s differences, social status and cultural expectations can affect their experiences of health and care.
It challenges and inspires people to think about the role of ethical leadership in improving the health and wellbeing of local communities, staff and patients and how the NHS can increase the social value of its activities.
Welcoming representatives from health and social care, alongside more than 20 partners from the voluntary and community sector, this event (in Leeds, Yorkshire) was a template for future NHS Values Summits, which will be held twice a year in different locations across the country. Each event will explore a different theme relating to equality, health inequalities and human rights. The next gathering will take place in May 2013.
My central idea is value. I chose this concept, because my family is very important to me. Most people would say that they value their family and friends. But some people would say that they care for wealth, looks, religion and etc. I wanted to show that there are many things that people love if it's a good thing or a bad thing. I wanted to be more on the positive side, but I realized that not everything is all just happiness. So I changed a couple of my picture ideas and showed more of a darker side of what valuable means.
For my first photo, it shows religion or beliefs. I think that this works for my concept, because religious beliefs is something that some people put all of their time and effort in. It can affect how people live and how they act towards others and the environment.
For my second photo, I'm showing beauty. Many people around the world is insecure about how they looks, and how others see them from the outside. Makeup covers all of the physical marks on someone's face or body. Some people are consumed by makeup so much that they can't even go outside without makeup on, because they feel embarrassed or ugly.
My next photo shows the importance of pets. Pets can be very valuable to to a person or family. A pet can be like a best friend or a family member that you've never had. They comfort you and help you feel like your not alone. And when you have a pet, you create a special bond.
My fourth photo represents family. Family is one of the bigger values that people have. You can go to them when you are having a hard time, and count on them for anything. They're like your best friends and you have a lot of memorable memories together whether it's good or bad.
My last photo shows wealth. Individuals can be so focused on how much money they have, since they can buy anything that they desire. Some people would rather live with a lot of money than live with people around them. And in my photo it shows someone in a suit wearing a watch and having a lot of money. So I think that all of my photos fit for this project.

How to Solve Absolute Value Equations concept. The equation |x| = 4. This means that x could be 4 or x could be -4. When you take the absolute value of 4, the solution is 4 and when you take the absolute value of -4, the solution is also 4. An absolute value problem, you have to get into account that there can be two solutions that will make the equation true. Learning absolute value equation, you set the quantity inside the absolute value symbol equal to the positive and negative value on the other side of the equal symbol.
In mid-May 2017, a values workshop was held as part of the Education for Justice (E4J) initiative in Panama.
The workshop focussed on some 233 students between pre-kindergarten and second grade, with the aim of promote values ​​such as integrity and honesty, as well as the tools and guides needed to face obstacles, take decisions and act responsibly in diverse social contexts.
The protagonists of the educational material, Dogui and Dengoso, surprised the children with their visit, being received in each classroom with much affection.
After the workshop, Professor Griselda Pérez de Warren, Principal of the School, along with her 447 pupils participated in a cultural event on education in values. Students of each grade delighted the audience with their talent. Finally, the dogs of the National Police dog unit astonished everyone with their abilities, closing this enriching day with laughter and applause!

U.S. Army Soldiers and noncommissioned officers from the six New England states, New Jersey, and New York participate in the rifle and pistol marksmanship portion of the Region 1 Competition Best Warrior Competition at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., April 25, 2017. Fourteen Soldiers are competing in the three-day event, April 25-27, 2017, which features timed events, including urban warfare simulations, a 12-mile ruck march, land navigation, and the Army Physical Fitness Test. The two winners will go on to compete in the 2017 Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition to be named the Army Guard's best-of-the-best and earn the title of the Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year. The Best Warrior Competition recognizes Soldiers who demonstrate commitment to the Army values, embody the Warrior Ethos, and represent the Force of the Future.
