The NHS Values Summit brings together a diverse range of people and perspectives to create a greater understanding of how people’s differences, social status and cultural expectations can affect their experiences of health and care.

 

It challenges and inspires people to think about the role of ethical leadership in improving the health and wellbeing of local communities, staff and patients and how the NHS can increase the social value of its activities.

 

Welcoming representatives from health and social care, alongside more than 20 partners from the voluntary and community sector, this event (in Leeds, Yorkshire) was a template for future NHS Values Summits, which will be held twice a year in different locations across the country. Each event will explore a different theme relating to equality, health inequalities and human rights. The next gathering will take place in May 2013.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, and is considered to be the key site for worship in the country. The project was launched by the late president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to establish a structure that would unite the cultural diversity of the Islamic world with the historical and modern values of architecture and art.

 

As the country's grand mosque, it is the key place of worship for Friday gathering and Eid prayers. During Eid it may be visited by more than 41,000 people. The library, located in the northeast minaret, serves the community with classic books and publications addressing a range of Islamic subjects: sciences, civilization, calligraphy, the arts, coins and includes some rare publications dating back more than 200 years. In reflection of the diversity of the Islamic world and the United Arab Emirates, the collection comprises material in a broad range of languages, including Arabic, English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Korean.

 

For two years running it was voted the world's second favourite landmark by TripAdvisor.

I don't OWN this Graffiti, I just got inspired everyday with it while going to work UNTIL they destructed the wall =( ... I thought I should share something as artistic as this with everyone MAY B it will make them SMILE as it did to me in harsh and normal times =) ...

A HUGE wall project for a local primary school to show their values. It will be 6 books on a background edged with Roman walls (like our city is)

Ingredients

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp onion powder

3/4 tsp table salt

1 Tbsp olive oil

1/2 cup golden seedless raisins

1 cup carrot(s), shredded

1/3 cup almonds, slivered

2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

1 1/4 pound lean ground turkey

2 cup orange pepper, finely diced

8 oz cooked whole wheat couscous

1 1/2 cup fat-free, reduced-sodium chicken broth

2 tsp McCormick Ground cumin

 

Instructions

1. cook couscous according to package directions

2. Heat oil in large skillet over med-high heat. Add turkey, peppers, carrots, raisins, cumin, onion powder, cinnamon and salt and cook 5-7 minutes.

3. Whisk broth and flour in a small bowl. Add to turkey mixture and stir until thick, about 2 min.

4. Serve in bowls and top with almonds

These are my 25 starting colors I take with me when I work on location. Some are mixed and some are straight from the tube. The bottom chart is the top color chart with the color removed so I can see the values of the colors. I wanted to make sure I had from 3 to 5 steps of gray value between white and black.
