A portrait of the utterly superb Fatoumata Diawara. I first came across her when she was a backing singer to Oumou Sangare at WOMAD 2009. She stood out like a beacon on stage then...such a great smile...and showing obvious joy in performing.

This is from her gig with Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca at WOMAD last year.

Utterly bonkers scenes this evening with Liverpool FC's Champions League victory parade passing along the waterfront as it neared its conclusion.

The three open toppers used were all Wright Gemini 2 integrals built new as hybrids for Arriva London. They later received new drivelines, still as hybrids, before passing to Crosville at Weston-super-Mare who subsequently converted them to part open toppers. They are now owned by The Bus Business of Oxfordshire as special event vehicles.

Sometimes, a flame can be utterly extinguished. Sometimes, a flame can shrink and waver, but sometimes a flame refuses to go out. It flares up from the faintest ember to illuminate the darkness, to burn in spite of overwhelming odds.

Lake District, Buttermere, Summer 2024.

An utterly stunning and overwhelmingly beautiful sky overhead.

A mean, agile, and utterly ridiculous high-speed drift trike, the Chunkeh Munkeh is Gnasher Jack’s pride and joy, built for high-speed ambushes, hard-hitting firepower, and absolutely no subtlety. Jack stole the core power system from a Bastion during a particularly daring heist, and ever since, he’s been tearing through the Shattersea, cackling like a lunatic.

Key Features:

Dual 15mm Heavy Machine Guns – Mounted symmetrically on either side of the cockpit, these heavy hitters spit lead like a firehose, perfect for tearing up convoys, punching through armour, and sending a proper message. "Oi! You lot ever danced with a storm o’ bullets? ‘Cause now’s your chance!"

Lightweight G.A.S. Launcher (Dorsal Mounted) – A small but efficient Grav-Anchor System mounted directly to the frame, allowing Jack to hook onto gravity wells and slingshot himself into (or out of) trouble. He’s not the best at using it (”Ahh, just wing it, yeah?”), but it gets the job done.

Off-Road Long Travel Tricycle Suspension – The Chunkeh Munkeh’s absurdly long front fork absorbs the worst of the Shattersea’s terrain, while the rear wheel provide just the right amount of instability for those insane high-speed chases. It rides rough, unstable, and terrifyingly fast—just how Jack likes it.

Stolen Micro-Arc Reactor (Primary Power Source) – The real crown jewel—a compact, high-efficiency reactor Jack boosted from a Bastion vault. This rare piece of tech gives Chunkeh Munkeh near-limitless energy, allowing long-range raids, sustained combat, and an unhealthy amount of reckless stunts.

"Ohhh, don’t look so glum, mate! You’ve just been had by Gnasher Jack ‘imself! That’s a story worth tellin’, innit?"

Utterly obsessed with this heart breaker. <3

Utterly sublime. I stood out at the edge of the field in front of my home for the longest time, watching this unfold.

One thing that was utterly soul soothing in Iceland were the tones of pastel colors. There was not enough of time to soak in all of those soft, gentle and visually pleasing Pantone shades.

Color is definitely not my forte however this subtle blue, the water diamond has to be shown in its glory. I hope I did it justice.

Lured... no, utterly enchanted by the sweet scent of the blood of the innocent young Sophia, the night-walker preyed upon his victim. Unable to stir from his trance, the call of the blood too strong, too potent... Laszlo turned into the predator, the beast. The man he had wanted to hold on to was lost to world that fateful night...

Another fun collaboration project with my dear friend BblinkK.

In this project she sends me photos of her doll posing with a backdrop/props accordingly to the theme we choose and I'm free to do the manipulation adding my own doll and extras to the scene so we have these interactions.

♥ I loved so much editing pictures with her gorgeous Sophia! She is so special! I know Laszlo is crazy for her too! ♥

Sophia is Little Monica Sophia - belongs to BblinkK, outfit and styling by her.

Laszlo is Ringdoll Dracula - belongs to me ㋡ face up and styling by me.

so basically . . . there`s a new band i`m completely and utterly in loveeee with , and if you`re following me on twitter , you know who that is . they`ve kinda taken over from my jb obsession . and i feel like i`m not as big of a fan as i used to be . i`ve been slacking on voting for them , i don`t really read much about them anymore , and so on , while on the other hand , i`ve shifted most , if not , all of my attention to these new guys and i`ve been the same kind of fan to them as i have been to jb . i guess it`s because this new band is new (well , duh) and they need more promotion and support than jb does . so maybe that`s why ? idk it`s hard to explain , but yeah :\ they`re called ballas hough band , for anyone that cares , and they`re quickly becoming (if not already) my favorite band . it`s just that i`ve had so much history with jb and they`ve had such an impact on my life , and i hate that they`re kind of playing a lesser role , if you will , in my life )': on the bright side , my tags are slightly less obnoxious :D

ok , sad news ; there`s gonna be a severe lack of jonas secrets as of august 1Oth . i`m starting school again , and since my freshman year was a total failure (thanks to the recent discovery of me having ADHD) , i`m gonna have to reeeeaaaally do better and not get distracted and do silly stuff like this in the school year . no , jonas secrets were a wonderful thing during the summer , but now that school`s starting again , it`s a waste of time . i`m not saying i`m not doing them anymore , just don`t expect anything (unless i have time to make one , cause i try to make them nice and they take a little bit of time) until weekends .copyright claim . you will be fined if you redistribute or steal

The utterly exquisite chlorophyll-lacking form of the (beautiful in its own right) violet helleborine. The books say that lacking chlorophyll it cannot photosynthesise, but I suspect that some of the red pigments that presumably contribute to the pink colouration must be carotenoids or similar, and therefore capable of photosynthesis. This would make sense given the greenish light on the forest floor, although much of its nutrition is undoubtedly provided willingly or otherwise by symbiotically-associated fungi. The location was very kindly supplied confidentially by an anonymous provider! Buckinghamshire.

The colored area of the throat in hummingbirds is called the gorget. This immature Anna's is starting to develop the coloration in the gorget as well as the sides and top of the head that will later identify him as a mature male Anna's Hummingbird.

The iridescence which shows in the hummingbirds is the result of feather structure and the reflection of light upon the platelets within each feather. The angle at which one views the light reflecting off these platelets determines what color effects are produced. This little fella seems to be sporting a chekered rainbow.

Must have driven by this spot hundreds of times and taken hundreds of the same snaps. Just cannot resist stopping.

In my mind this view is utterly heavenly, wrapped up in a spectacular Hebridean beach.

In a previous life I used to work for a couple of weeks each year on the Hebrides. Used to have to visit Seilebost Primary School (now closed). What a place to have a school, 100 mts from the sea. Bit of a contrast from my urban Primary School in Glasgow!

After my early start on Tuesday, I was utterly exhausted thanks to the M.E., so a planned visit to Cotgrave became a late morning and afternoon visit.

I spent most of that time getting cooked in the heat and a cricked neck, watching White Letter Hairstreaks and also Purple Hairstreaks flying and chasing in the treetops, with occasional (4) flypasts by up to 2 Purple Emperors, all of which was great to see.

The light inside the wood was far too bright and contrasty for decent photos and to add to my problems a combination of my 300mm PF lens low shutter speed VR fault and my tired brain failing to raise ISOs to an appropriate level, caused most of my shots to be too slow (under 1/320) and consequently ruined by camera shake. I did catch several close sightings of female White Letter Hairstreaks, low down creeping around on leaves and twigs of their Master Elm, looking for locations to lay eggs, as in this record shot, which was the only vaguely tolerable output from the day. None came to nectar on adjacent brambles or other flowers, but perhaps it just was the wrong time of day.

Thanks for the faves and comments - appreciated

This image is a homage to all the artists I know who are utterly and passionately consumed by their ideas. Translating the concepts that follow us around day and night is such a brave and soulful experience. The feeling of euphoria I transcend when creating is unexplainable. I have no real understanding for the butterflies I experience whilst editing an image but I know that without putting the brush to the canvas, I could not cope.

I've been sitting on this idea for a couple of months now, it's been revisiting me over and over again. I've been practising a new mindset recently, one that includes telling myself out loud to stop all negative thoughts. It's been working so far and by painting my thoughts, it's allowed me the freedom to introduce new ideas. I'm so content that I've finally reached this place!

(I've missed my Sunday upload on YouTube due to editing this all day, it's been a long old edit! I'll be posting the behind the scenes of this tomorrow, so if you fancy seeing me covered in paint, freezing my ass off, go check it out then! :)

Utterly Speechless with the artist's work in this doll. No words to describe the work, details, love that went into this doll...AND her crown (not shown yet) is so outstanding as well. Thank you Danielle!!!!

Not all ideas are good ideas and even the powerful and experimented Kuat Drive Yards (KDY) engineers can fail utterly. The AT-AC or All Terrain Armored Crawler is a perfect example of one of these false good ideas.

While the supremacy of the AT-AT on the field was not to be demonstrated anymore, particularly after the crushing imperial victory on Hoth, the Imperial Army still complained about the AT-AT expensive cost per unit and its highly demanding maintenance.

KDY engineered went back to their plans and after a few months, they proposed the AT-AC. The concept was quite simple, starting from the successful AT-AT, they replaced the costly maintenance-intensive articulated legs by continuous track systems.

When presenting the AT-AC to the Imperial Army, KDY was proud to claim that it was significantly less expensive than the original AT-AT, that it required only one third of the AT-AT maintenance time, while still retaining the same firepower and robust protection.

Unfortunately, the first field deployments quickly demonstrated all weaknesses of the AT-AC. Because of its great armor and protection, it was heavy and because it was heavy, it was really slow when crawling, its speed approaching ridiculous levels when the landscape was not ideal. The second issue comes from the change of height. While crawling on the ground, the AT-AC was no more inspiring fear but also found itself very limited in its fire coverage ability.

As consequence, the limited number of assembled prototypes have been assigned to 3rd class garrisons on planets with limited local technological civilizations. Surprisingly, the troopers reported only positive feedback about their AT-AC. These were offering comfortable, reliable and well protected transportation and the lack of agility was not a real issue when battling primitive tribes and species. It is even rumored that some COMPNOR officers would have confessed that with AT-AC on Endor instead of AT-ST, the rebellion (not to mention the despised Ewoks) would never had won.

One last remark about the AT-AC. According to several concurring sources, it would have been nicknamed Crawling Armored Transport (C.A.T.) among the troops. COMPNOR supposes that it may related to some kind of resemblance to an animal on one of the remote planets where the AT-AC operates.

Disclaimer: the above is 100% fiction.

Lake District, Buttermere, Summer 2024.

Taken during my nature walk today.

This utterly surreal scenario awaited us near Fredvang on Moskenesoya island. The house was really reduced to ramshackle state while in front a Lamborghini tractor was waiting with one wheel missing. While we were moving around and photographing it, an old lady came over the field and entered the "house". A friend of mine, whom I told the story, thought that this old lady would put down her knitting once we were gone, put back the wheel on the tractor and go all bonkers over the fields ... :D

How utterly miserable is this. Laid up since 2009, though sporting Laidlaw memorabilia which was nice to see.

I was utterly useless yesterday. Instead of cleaning up or planning Christmas dinner, I convinced myself it was necessary to work on my Blythes. It was a waste of valuable time for sure, and I am continuing to waste time right now in hopes that everything will magically happen on its own!

But doesn't my DaBi look wonderful with her new green eyes? I replaced her god awful purple ones.

Last week was an utterly bizarre week for me (in a good way). I have never experienced anything quite like it before, but it's crazy weeks like that one which make good things happen.

I recently submitted some work (and accompanying text) online which turned into a very special opportunity and experience for me in the end. I was lucky enough to be selected for a particular online ad-campaign which meant that a 6-person film crew ended up flying over to Guernsey last week to document how I set about making my Light Painting work.

I will share more specific details about the whole experience soon (as the final work is not quite ready yet) and so for now I just wanted to share one of the test-shots from this particular Light Painting session.

This photograph was made at a location on Guernsey that is famous for being haunted. The owners told me that many people have taken photographs at this particular location and have later discovered things in the photographs that quite simply cannot be explained.

Well all righty then! As if I was not already scared enough about working down there in the dark! But here's the really weird part - several of the photographs I took had really weird orange marks all over the sides of the images that I genuinely cannot explain. I will post more results later to show you what I mean. I am sure there is a sound explanation for it all, but at this current point in time I have nothing to say other than it freaked us all right out!!

An utterly magical Grade I-listed Manor House in the Cotswolds. The house dates from 1450-1616 and the 'hanging gardens,' mainly of box and yew, were laid out in the early 1600s. Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe thought they might be England's earliest domestic gardens remaining in their original form.

Although the garden is compact, it achieves a romantic atmosphere matched by very few other places - Beckley Park and Cranborne Manor for instance. A fair number of weddings are held here each year.

We were the only visitors and had the place to ourselves, apart from the chatty owner, Sir Nicholas Mander, and his dogs. I set up my tripod and took this HDR Image, developed in Lightroom.

This dress was just utterly gorgeous and fun to wear. The minute I did up all the cute buttons, tied the dainty little bow under the Peter Pan collar, side-tied the belt and slipped on my black courts I couldn’t stop smiling. I imagined what it would be like to wake up, open the cupboard and see racks of dresses to choose from if I was a full time woman. A lovely thought, a lovely dress 👗❤️

Lagoa do Caiado is situated next to the Lagoa Séca from my previous upload. This is also a crater lake not far from the huge Mt. Pico volcano.

The day before we visited this lake in the dense mist (see my upload) and no one was there. Today we were alone again. Just sitting there calmly, enjoying the sunshine and the tranquility of the whole scenery was fantastic!

I. Am. Utterly. Appalled. By what Flickr has pulled last night. I am all for improvements and modernizing, but completely changing an entire concept without notice, without say, without listening to any of the feedback, is just beyond me. I am seriously considering leaving. But right now I'm still here and I really hope they fix this. Although I doubt it.

I made an ipernity in the meantime, let me know if you're there as well. We should all move there (but going alone does not make much sense).

how utterly gorg is this dress, huh? Another score from @uturnvintage a week or 3 back.

TBH, I wasn't sure I liked it that much when I wore it, but I have to say, it looks utterly flattering on moi. Agree?

Anyway, hope you like.

The sunset tonight was utterly amazing. I was shooting all sorts of shots with various levels of success from about 23:00 hours until almost 03:00.

This is one I really like filled in with my 550EX flash, I lost count of the number of attempts I took to get this result. Was pretty frustrating towards the end once I had drained the batteries in the flash.

But I LOVE the end result and I hope you will also.
