What a let down Utopia was! How come the organizers let there be only one restaurant at the place. and that was serving the WORST falafel i ever had in my entire life. I got dhiarea after eating that SHIT food. Shame on you boom people. you should have taken care of YOUR people better. i am defenetetly not coming back
After an 1886 Indian raid on their nearby Little Creek home, R. H. Kincheloe and family moved here, built a home and in 1873 a 2-story rock store. They platted town as "Montana", giving land for churches, school, and community square. Post office moved from Waresville in 1883. Methodists had church here before town was founded. Baptists organized their church in 1888. Church of Christ congregation relocated here, 1902.
New name praising climate was chosen by Postmaster George Barker. Stores and shops were built. Town is now a center for ranching, retirement, vacationing. Marker sponsored by citizens of Utopia. (1971) (Marker No. 5617)
One of the most weird experiences was when we were anchored in Great Harbour, Peter's Island and I was downloading the days pictures onto my laptop when all of a sudden a named 'Utopia' hotspot appeared on my wifi locater. How could this be i thought, we're out in the middle of no where. There are marinas with wifi, but no where near here. Just then around the point came this massive 250 ft yacht, which anchored along side us in the bay. The mega yacht was named 'Utopia' and apparently had it's own hotspot .... go figure!
On my return I searched it and found this picture and the following; Utopia is the second largest Feadship ever built. She was created in 2004 and carries 12 guests in luxury. Details include owner's deck with a stateroom, study, gym, pantry, lounge and outdoor private Jacuzzi, helicopter platform, a tender garage, three guest suites and two VIP staterooms and room for 20 crew members. No price was given but since she charters for around $436,000 per week it's definitely up there. The yacht will still be available on the charter market" - So if you're looking, she's for sale
The First of many Utopia Raves one very cold july Sydney night back in 95, even the DJs were wearing jackets or coats from what I can remember and some girl in the line in front of me getting busted by security with a honey bear bottle bong and a seriously Fat wad of cash hhmmmmm.........
The grand plan for Glasgow was to re-build the city as concrete utopia with roads hidden, houses high and public areas connected by paths and bridges.
The Anderson centre was the first project but it was never fully realized and looking at how its aged in the last 50 years its lucky the project never got further.
Utopia is a place so perfect that its vertualley impossible to exist .. created by plato the term indecates to a place where every thing is devoted to the happeness of man kind and all shapes and forms of evil are un existant ....
and during the next few weeks my utopia will be my study room ;P

Who knew Utopia could be found in a T-shirt? This is definitely one of the funkier T-shirt shops in town.
I went back to Victoria's Bastion Square to catch a long exposure night shot. The square's pretty busy on a Friday night, so I had to be patient to catch a shot without people in it.
The bulk of the lighting is provided by harsh yellow street lamps, which rob the square of its normal range of colours. So, I opted to process this shot as a split tone, using hues that I sampled from the original photo.
Eliminating gum and bird poop took forever, I'm not eager to shoot here again.
Nikon D600 and Nikkor 28-300mm f/2.5-5.6G lens at 32mm, 5 second long exposure at f/7.1, ISO 640. Blemish removal, exposure and clarity adjustments, black and white conversion, and split toning in Lightroom 4, distortion correction done in Photoshop CS6.

UTOPIA FOR SALE?

For my Utopia project I have chosen to focus on my own personal Utopia and what it means to me. In researching for the brief I have discovered that my personal Utopia is not a physical place that exists but I find my happiness and peace with in others and the people I surround myself with. To convey this idea I have considered many different ideas one of which is through photographing the people who make me happy and showing the Utopia on there physical bodies. I have also looked at peoples bodies and found that "flaws" such as freckles show the human body in it's purest form. I am messing around with the idea of using the freckles to represent the physical places we found each other and where we are from - using freckles to create a map. These are just ideas for now but i'm excited to see where my work will go from here.

The fifth volume of Stadtklang, the UCL Urban Laboratory music night, took place on Sunday 20 March at Somerset House as part of the 'Venturing Beyond: Graffiti and the Everyday Utopias of the Street' exhibition.
Writer and theorist Kodwo Eshun of The Otolith Group was in conversation with Ayesha Hameed - co-editor of a new book ‘Visual Culture as Time Travel’ and lecturer in the Department of Visual Cultures, Goldsmiths, University of London - and Louis Moreno to discuss 'The Last Angel of History' - a video essay from the Black Audio Film Collective exploring informatics, technics, mutation, posthumanity and extraterrestriality.
The discussion centred on the film’s themes and its critical role in the production of new Afro- and other futurisms. Kodwo also played a playlist especially for Stadtklang offering his take on Afrofuturist sound. Benny Blanco and Nonsense from NTS Radio played sets inspired by cities, science-fiction and utopia.

Hot on the heels of the recent Hot Wheels Pagani Utopia is the similar priced alternative by MSZ for their Cool Chic Auto 1/64 line. A very plucky company taking on the might of Mattel and Maisto and other established brands such as Welly and Motormax in the low cost licensed market. To get themselves established they've played it safe with vehicle choices but offer features not often found at this price level such as working suspension, all round tampo detailing and baseplates which can easily be removed to change wheels.

So good, and without the hype telling me so, I couldn't help getting a second example of the brand new Pagani Utopia. Modelled on one of their newest cars which they've been producing since late 2023 and with a total run of no more than 99 its yet another Pagani mainline casting which Hot Wheels should be proud of.
