Rather than ending up on the roadside, these now decorate the rumpus room. (I did not drink all these).

A friend of mine gave me the idea to start turning my many extra Monster High brushes into people sized accessories! Here are the first few things I made from them, a few more photos over at Dolly Daydream, I'll be updating that page with new things as I make them too!

Stylish chic up cycled poncho wrap/shawl. Versatile wearing options, can be worn off to the side with buttons at shoulder or with buttons at center front with one pocket. Made from Beige and Tan mohair/wool sweater knits.

So it was raining the whole day today, and I crocheted japanese pattern or actually Elisabeth Cat's version of popular japanese pattern flowers from medium weight wool. The fabric for the cushion is upcycled wool sweater and I stuffed it with wool roving, that was not felting very well, but as a stuffing it is perfect.

These pants were made as part of the Kids clothes week challenge 2011. The request was for some warm, soft, long pants that were comfy. I made these from a pair of old Grandma pants, some linen pockets taken from an old skirt and some black fleece on the inside.

I have a passion for taking dresses that are heading to the landfill and reinventing them. I started a facebook page called discardedcouture and got such a great response, I started making dresses fulltime. I sell them on Esty. The store is called discardcouture.
I hope to inspire generations to come that you don't have to buy new and consume. Find your own unique style.

Settlers of Catan game board blanket, complete with harbors and robber. Made from thrifted, felted wool sweaters. Backed with cotton flannel.
I was at the Braw Wee Fair in Glasgow's Barras Market and run in to a big guy I met while I worked at the Commonwealth Games. His full time job is now taking reclaimed materials meant for landfill and turning them into awesome hand-worked pieces of useful furniture and ornaments.

Gideon's class craft for the school fundraiser: We had the kids make bugs out of recycled materials then we tagged and mounted them.
They gave their bugs names which we translated into Latin and they listed where they "found" them.

I have recently fallen in love with upcycling shoes I find at thrift stores. I find scuffed up but wearable shoes and change them using my imagination to make them into works of art
