This chair is a reclaimed chair that has been fixed, painted and upholstered to the highest standard. The Duck-egg blue color sets off the main seat. The seat is a weave of upcycled belts which is extremely comfortable to sit on. It would look fantastic at a dressing table in the master bedroom or as a statement piece anywhere else in the home. Many of our materials are purchased from local charity shops. By buying with Green Devil, you are playing your part in supporting local charities.

Sustainable design and sustainable consuming is what Dominika Naziębły is interested the most in fashion. She uses upcycling to create clothes recirculation, changing their character and quality. She is intrigued by balancing on the thin line of so-called taste. Formally she uses accidental and studied ideas in design. Sketchy and deeply thought forms are included as well.
Skirt and vest made of about 25 shirts
Silk hand-dyed dress
Wool vest, torn, bleached jeans

My neighbour, Sarah, is running "The First Annual Applecross Upcycling Competition". A mutual friend, Donald, who is a master of metalwork, contributed this trophy which will be awarded to the winner. It is made completely from recycled materials - the bowl is the bottom half of an old Tilley lamp and the handles are sections of bicycle chain.
My kids are really pleased with the end result of their "new" star crayons. A school box full of broken, random crayons turned into 12 large (2.75") colorful stars ready for new crafting projects!

Plant containers I made of willow branches (left over after trimming!) and lampshade skeletons. Lampshades had small crowns on top and when I turned them upside down they became bases for the planters. I line them with plastic or fiber cloth or use them as outer pots.

With £15, the brief was to buy multiple items from a charity shop and up-cycle the pieces to create a product with an entirely new function. After buying a Moka Pot and a Vegetable Rack, we had two weeks to produce an outcome.

I was at the Braw Wee Fair in Glasgow's Barras Market and run in to a big guy I met while I worked at the Commonwealth Games. His full time job is now taking reclaimed materials meant for landfill and turning them into awesome hand-worked pieces of useful furniture and ornaments.

This shirt started out as a plain white, cotton top. I dyed it blue and then added embellishments such as the patches I painted and added buttons and beads to, hand beading on the one sleeve, dyed hot pink gauze to the other sleeve, light blue cotton bric brac, and some colorful trim from another project that was left over.
No knitting required! Made out of an old sweater and embellished with a little embroidery. Check out my profile for more info on this tutorial!
