UP MOPAC heritage unit 1982 is seen quietly resting in the Jefferson City Mill Bottoms awaiting viewing by members of the MP Historical Society the next day. She's looking pretty good despite the frame stripe and the fuel tank.

One of the entrances to the former Cornwall Canal in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada.

The Cornwall Canal was built by the British government of Canada to bypass a troublesome rapids hindering navigation on the St. Lawrence at Cornwall, Ontario. Construction began in 1834 and was completed in 1843.

It closed in 1968, after becoming obsolete and functionally replaced by the St. Lawrence Seaway.

UP 1983 on the point of CORP 508, the Eugene to Medford hauler that uses UP power between Eugene and Roseburg. Taken under the I-5 overpass along Franklin Blvd. near Goshen, Oregon. Nice to see a heritage unit even if it's technically not on the UP!

Yesterday I had an encounter with a very curious milkfactory :)

I love those cows and the milk they're producing.

Treblinka, he is reputed to have picked up the bleeding body of a baby lying on the ground and turned to those with him saying: This is holiness, purer than all purity, a Jewish child…. These 'defiled' ones, when they see a Jewish child in the arms of his mother are immediately filled with the urge to murder … the forces of tumah, demonic defilement, cannot endure the sight of holiness, the spirit of purity that hovers over the face of a Jewish child.

I'd been meaning to build an autorack for ages, but never got around to it. Part of my dismay had been that the clearance limit at my club (14 high from the baseplate) was too low to look realistic. So here's my 14 high from the baseplate car carrier in UP armor yellow. It's built upside down all the way to the roof. I saw this on brickshelf and had to use that roof. I wanted to do it in metallic silver, but once I found out the price I decided white would be just fine! It's 44 long and well over may scale's 500 gram limit.

i have already uploaded the video of the actual event but here is the setting up

Yes that is green grass in december, no we are not in Iowa.

With lightning in the sky and before the heavy rains fell, I snapped a few frames of the UP business train sitting on the RIP track at Nahant Yard last night.

It is scheduled to depart Nahant today (9/10) at 0730 and will run to Butler, WI via La Crosse and Tunnel City, WI.

Yippe for Friday, everyone!

This is the first shot taken on my gawjus Manfrotto tripod, I pulled in near this field on my way home with it. No soon had I got it erect when POW! A man appeared asking me what I was doing....ummmm taking a photo?? I then nervously went into depths to explain it was a 3 bracketed shot, I was hoping to get a good HDR. I don't know why I told him this, I'm sure from the look he gave me it made no sense.

Anyhow after he had told me about people walking their dogs and spoiling nearby crops and not being respectful, I decided NOW was the time to do a silly shot, knowing that he'd gone away happy that I was trustworthy.

A 10 second timer dash, if you don't mind, in which I sustained a slight elbow injury, gawd knows how. And its not the best shot, but Im so happy with my new tripod that I decided to upload it even though it shows my horrid Hobbit feet off nicely.

The Albion is now Chassis cab in the line up up the top yard where we used to keep them

Here's a little bit of action going on at UP's 18th St. Yard in Kansas City, KS. From left to right, we have an MTUKC-22 with KCS, NS, and CSX power, BNSF train T-UP1-25R with a pair of 600 series Dash 9s waiting to get back across the river to Argentine Yard, MASKS-24 coming in to yard itself, and a yard job with a pair of GP15-1s for power. 10/25/15.

One thing for certain, the sun sure sets really fast this time of year. Normally I'd be looking forward to sitting in a stand waiting for a monster buck to walk by, but thanks to the temps being too warm for that type of activity, I guess I'll have to settle for piss bricks on the UP.

Here we have this evenings fine image of a Tier-IV GEVO pulling a piss poorly loaded stack train. I guess I should be thankful that the UP sucks so bad, keeps my job safe.

UP 2724 West at Bonner Springs, KS.

3 yr old black bear hung around for a few visits, had to take down the feeders for a few extra days to ensure he left us. After waking up from a long sleep, I'd be pretty hungry for most anything too.
