Learn Relearn, unlearn. What's that supposed to mean. You learn than you forget and than you learn again. That's pointless.

sometimes i think

i d rather die

than live

in a world

where there

is hate

that grows

like a tree

branches

corrupting

the skies

the seas

treacherous lies

body on rent

soul on lease

claustropbhic

existence

no fresh breeze

much happier

than us our

the birds and the bees

untouched by mans

sinful disease

a single moment

eternity

unlike us humans

wallowing

each second

in self pity

me

a rusty

lock

corroded insides

a hairpin

as a master key

unlearning life

life’s greatest

tragedy

unconfused

agony

to be or not to be

You that build all the guns

You that build the death planes

You that build the big bombs

You that hide behind walls

You that hide behind desks

I just want you to know

I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'

But build to destroy

You play with my world

Like it's your little toy

You put a gun in my hand

And you hide from my eyes

And you turn and run farther

When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old

You lie and deceive

A world war can be won

You want me to believe

But I see through your eyes

And I see through your brain

Like I see through the water

That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers

For the others to fire

Then you set back and watch

When the death count gets higher

You hide in your mansion

As young people's blood

Flows out of their bodies

And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear

That can ever be hurled

Fear to bring children

Into the world

For threatening my baby

Unborn and unnamed

You ain't worth the blood

That runs in your veins

How much do I know

To talk out of turn?

You might say that I'm young

You might say I'm unlearned

But there's one thing I know

Though I'm younger than you

Even Jesus would never

Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question

Is your money that good?

Will it buy you forgiveness?

Do you think that it could?

I think you will find

When your death takes its toll

All the money you made

Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die

And your death'll come soon

I'll follow your casket

In the pale afternoon

And I'll watch while you're lowered

Down to your deathbed

And I'll stand over your grave

'Til I'm sure that you're dead...

For the 100 Theme Art Challenge, number 8, "Innocence".

The original story version of Little Red Riding Hood is actually far more disturbing than the modern version which children nowadays would be told. The story originated as a tale told to warn young girls against strangers (particularly predatory men, or "wolves") and avoid situations where their virtue might be compromised, insinuating rape.

This turned out more graphic than I intended, but I think the point is made more directly this way. In addition to the girl, I think that innocence is also lost in the reader upon reading the original version for the first time - a simple childhood story now heavy with adult connotations and violence offers a startling new perspective that cannot be unlearned.

I joined the women of the Dark Waters Dragon Boat for a morning run. It is very different from canoeing! I had a lot to learn and to unlearn. New Denver, BC.

Unlearn The BS You Were Taught

...Trying to grasp things, you lose them.

Forcing a project to completion,

you ruin what was almost ripe.

Therefore the Master takes action

by letting things take their course.

He remains as calm at the end

as at the beginning.

He has nothing,

thus has nothing to lose.

What he desires is non-desire;

what he learns is to unlearn.

He simply reminds people

of who they have always been.

He cares about nothing but the Tao.

Thus he can care for all things.”

Harold Friedell was my instructor of composition in Union Seminary. He was organist/choirmaster at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church on Parfk Avenue and composer of many anthems still respected today. My first year consisted of unlearning many things and bending to what was (and IS) considered good taste. We were friends finally by my second year.

Visit here: whyp-book.blogspot.com/?book=1401950264

Regena Thomashauer, creatrix of Mama Gena?s School of Womanly Arts, has spent 20 years helping women unlearn the lessons our culture teaches?that a ?successful? life means achieving, accomplishing, and taking care of others?and showing them how to connect deeply with their own source of feminine power. It hasn?t escaped her notice that the word that most viscerally sums up that power is ?arguably the most powerful pejorative word in the English language.? In this book, she steps forward to return that word to its rightful place?as the highest of all possible compliments, as a sacred living prayer.Pussy is written to reacquaint women with their own power source?both figuratively, with insight into the divine feminine as a force in the world, and literally, with instructions for developing ?cliteracy? and understanding what makes them tick sensually. Regena walks readers through ?pussy rehab? to help them awaken a part of themselves they?ve been taught to ignore, repress, even despise,

Hidden, not as deep as I would like

It takes time for me to open my eyes

See the hidden that others see so fresh

Picking at it I causes new pain

There are no words

No magic

Just a small silent learning aching to be

I talk to comprehend

I wonder - would I listen to me?

Trying to find new paths

Each day shining and dark

Learning and unlearning - stepping ahead and behind

Trying not to pick the wounds - both yours and mine

I regret

I look ahead

I give up

I embrace my hidden self - now above the surface

I find hope in learning

Learning to undo

Learning to see myself

Learning to listen

Learning to learn

There are no words

No magic

I am what I have made myself

I regret

I embrace

I pick at myself and try to understand

I work at myself and try to understand

And go on

Not wiser - but more willing to try

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

Let all things be done decently and in order.
