Unity is strength. Just that humans fail to practice this.

Someone asked me once why I care so much about other people; in spite being a total stranger to them. Well, I used to have this idea, a “pipe dream” if you will, that every single human being will truly understand one another and hate will be a thing of the past. You know, like one of Bob Marley’s famous song “ONE LOVE”. Yea, I know. You’re probably thinking that I live in such a fantasy world and need to grow up. Perhaps you’re right. Although it may seem such a BIG fantasy right now, I still wonder when will that magical day come where peace and helping one another is a common site to see. I think about it from time to time you know. Especially every time I hear police sirens and see ‘bad’ things from the outside.
But anyway, I replied to his question and said: I know that this current world that we live in is fucked up (there is no question about that). Heck, it even amazes me that somehow, I haven’t dropped all my ideals yet, especially that they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. But (here comes my big but), my reason is that in spite of everything, I still believe that people are genuinely good at heart.
I have FAITH.

I was very lucky to shoot in an empty Unity Temple this week. This is still an active place of worship. The building was designed by Frank Lloyd Write and opened in 1908. It is considered the first "modern" building. My photos do no justice to the feeling in this room. Airy, yet quiet, with an amazing warm glow. Truly a beautiful place.
