This aerial view was taken by my friend and colleague Brian Mills on a helicopter ride when we went to visit the factory which was producing a large quantity of hand-made bricks for our project at Woughton Campus. We were not quite used to this disorientating eperience but were fully equiped with our antiquated cameras at the ready for taking aerial photos of Milton Keynes.
The Shopping Centre building was being finished but the external work was far from complete. The bottom shows the part of the original Public Square now occupied by Marks & Spencer's building. The distant fields are now Campbell Park.

MFV - 425 (Motor Fishing Vessel) was one of 21 vessels built during WWII under contract, many for the US Army, by the Ernest Wright shipyard at Tuncurry. (More than likely the vessel under construction behind the MFV - 425 is the MFV - 426 which was launched on the 28th August 1945.) Both these vessels were commissioned in 1944 and, after completion, were assigned to the Royal Navy as HMS MFV 425 and HMS MFV 426.
More images of the MFV 425 Class can be seen in the Album MOTOR FISHING VESSELS
