This forecourt didn't last even thirty years. Here we see it under a re-build, no indication of what brand would be sold when it was ready but at the earliest Streetview shot it was a Total branded site and eventually switched to Gulf before finally closing and being removed altogether. This one is under construction. Around here, it's not surprising for someone (or something such as a trust or other legal entity) to purchase a beautiful waterfront home, and proceed to demolish it so they can put up their own design. This is often millions of dollars worth of rip and replace.
