U-BOOT TYP VII C - 1/38 (minifig) scale with full interior.

~ 177 CM (~70 INCH) LONG

~ 15.000 PARTS

~ 4.5 YEARS OF WORK

GOALS

The model was supposed to represent a ship from the initial period of the war.

It does not show a specific copy, but it should resemble uboots such as U-69 or U-96 (known from the classic Das Boot movie).

I wanted to get a fairly good representation of both the curves of the hull and as many pieces of internal equipment as possible.

MODEL CHARACTERISTICS

It consists of 6 modules that naturally represent the 6 sections of a real ship:

1. The forward torpedo room and crew compartment [Bow: ~ 3600 parts]

2. Officers', radio and listening room [Front mess: ~ 2000 parts]

3. Control room with conning tower [Control room: ~ 2700 parts]

4. Petty Officers' romm and galley [Rear mess: ~ 1700 parts]

5. Diesel engines room [Diesels: ~ 2400 parts]

6. Electric engines and aft torpedo room [Stern: ~ 2800 parts]

In each module, the port and / or starboard can be removed.

So the entire model can represent the ship from the outside or with an open interior.

The target configuration is with the starboard closed and the port open.

I finally made two photo sessions of the entire model - in a fully closed configuration and with a closed starboard and open port side.

Adittionally I have prepared presentation of individual modules separately.

[b][CONSTRUCTION][/b]

The construction was planned to be made in sections and I started from the control room.

Each module was first designed in LDD (first the hull, then the interior) and then built in reality.

The modules were created in this order:

3. Control room

2. Front mess

1. Bow

4. Rear mess

5. Diesels

6. Stern

Designing started on 26.12.2017.

A six-car U set is almost at journey's end as it negotiates the points in Sydney Yard on the summer afternoon of 27 Jan 1994.

Whore, stop being so fucking 2 faced cuz you know what..in this society, your kind of people will never ever fucking survive !!~

no one can ever see through your fucking disgusting soul besides me. and every fuckin dirty things that youve done, i know them all. stop acting so innocent, tryin to tell everyone that "oh..im not guilty" cuz one day, they will eventually find out that your dirty mouth fuckin lied to their faces, whore :-j

READ AND TRANSLATE THIS AS CAREFULLY AS YOU CAN, BITCH. IM TALKING TO YOUR FACEEEE, NOT ANYONE ELSE, KITTYCAT M

Shit, i feel like i've been away for a lifetime.

Maybe i needed time to get my head together. Or maybe i'm just making excuses.

Any which way you play it I need to get back on it big time.

This was one of those that just popped into my head on a slow day at work when I was spending more time reading crap on FB than doing what I actually get paid to do.

The real worry is that we are all spending more time on (un)social media than actually living in the real world.

The thing that really pisses me off is that we're fire fighting against the next generation missing out on climbing trees and grazed knees because they're more interested in getting Likes and Followers than going out and seeing the world with their own eyes.

As mentioned in an earlier picture, U-OV introduced a batch of secondhand buses in 2023. In July, driver familiarisation on the Citaro Capacity buses started and I saw one of these pass through Rijnsweerd while I was out taking pictures. Here we see former Connexxion 9341 which had been freshly stickered.

At last I have found a Mamiya U and a working one. People talk about it a lot, but frankly, except for the design and mysterious name, it’s a rather ordinary compact. People would like you to believe that the U is an Olympus XA copy, sadly, it isn’t. The camera is huge compared to the XA, it’s roughly the size of a Canon Sureshot first generation, but no AF, motordrive, or manual exposure.

Well, I think the design is nice with every control revolving around the lens hump, it is original and fresh. Trouble is, this is a scale focusing camera, no rangefinder like the XA and a very ordinary viewfinder. There is thumbwheel for advancing the film (like the XA series) and the rewind crank is flushed at the base plate, like the XA and other cameras (Konica, Pentax, etc).

By this time, AF was coming in force and this Mamiya (mine doesn’t have the Mamiya-Sekor lens inscription) has none of the technology offered by other rivals, except a very annoying (and loud) beeping that alerts you to switch on the flash.

The lens is a 35/2.8 five element lens, but from the pictures that I´ve seen taken with this camera, it’s nothing special. I think people associate the Mamiya name with medium format and conclude that this lens must perform like its bigger brothers.

I can understand the bare bones approach, by this time, Mamiya-Sekor was in deep trouble and soon they would stop production of 35 mm photo equipment, but they had enough time to launch an AF version of this camera.
