We spoke to a ranger about this hike--from the Dempster Highway to Grizzly Lake, over Glissade Pass to Divide Lake, on to Talus Lake, and then back--before we started. He described the route over Glissade Pass, explaining, "You'll look down and say, 'that can't be possible,' but you just keep going." And that's exactly what we did say, and do, glissading down snowfields and scree. On the way back up the pass, by this point good and tired, we found ourselves sinking deep into the snow and scree, and experiencing the demoralization of actually sliding backwards after great effort. Since this photo is six years old, I won't try to build the suspense; after a lot of effort, we made it back to the tent:) Mrs. Orca making the arduous way from Divide to Grizzly lake over Glissade Pass, Tombstone Territorial Park, Yukon Territory, Canada.
Found ages ago when someone at the private nursing homes had cats.
Better viewed large, and thank you for your favourites. :)
Another one from the archives. This guy hauled and played two pianos for the people of Portland. He was pretty good, too.

"The historic ghost town of Two Guns is situated on the eastern rim of Canyon Diablo about 30 miles east of Flagstaff, Arizona, United States of America. The town, originally known as Canyon Lodge, flourished as one of the significant tourist spots along the famous route 66.
The town had a gas station, a cafe, overnight accommodation, a store selling local souvenirs and even a zoo with animals characteristic for the area. But when Route 66 was redirected to the opposite canyon, the town of Two Guns, as many towns along the old unused section of Route 66, started slowly to decline. After several attempts for it to be resurrected, the town of Two Guns became a completely abandoned ghost town at the beginning of the 1970s. The several remaining buildings are now in ruins but the site remains a picturesque place full of history and mystery.
The area that would later become Two Guns was inhabited much earlier. Native artifacts discovered there indicate that this place was populated from 1050 AD. The first European settlers started to populate the area in the mid-19th century when the construction of the Santa Fe Railway was proceeding in northern Arizona. In 1880 there was built a railroad town called Canyon Diablo, which became a ghost town years before the idea of building the town of Two Guns was even born. The town of Canyon Diablo quickly became a favorite place for outlaws, gamblers, and criminals. Billy the Kid and his gang hid in a ruined house built from the stone on the west edge of Canyon Diablo in winter 1879-1890."

So thankful for the generosity others show our family. We’ve been given eggs multiple times by different people, as well as being blessed by many other generous forms of sharing. This image serves as a reminder of the kindness we have been shown by others.
So thankful for these eggs that were generously given to our family (this is two dozen of the five dozen that were given), that helped provide some meals for our family. I was captivated by the colors and unique features of each of the eggs as I carefully washed them and found them and the goodness and meaning behind them so beautiful that I was compelled to photograph them.

Harvey Dent, AKA Two-Face, is one of the Batman's most dangerous and conflicted foes.
---
Two-Face was one of the easier characters to build for, in large part because of his simplistic suit design and large (comparatively) stature. That said however, his face was one of the most challenging aspects as it required me to build two halves of one head that spanned the width of 3 (and not 4) studs, while still being stable. Although not perfectly divided, I used a printed leg (Azog) and Ninjago stickers (among others) to help bridge the gap and even out the burns.
My Two-Face takes inspiration from Batman: The Animated Series and Batman: Arkham City. His base is one of the collection's largest and it depicts an imploded courthouse.

"Two of us riding nowhere
Spending someone's
Hard earned pay
You and me Sunday driving
Not arriving
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
Two of us sending postcards
Writing letters
On my wall
You and me burning matches
Lifting latches
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home
You and I have memories
Longer than the road that stretches out ahead"
I believe this is a Two-barred Warbler, but living in North America I am not very familiar with the Phylloscopidae. I put this to the Bird Identification Help Group here on Flickr to see if I am right, but don’t yet have a conclusive answer.
The sighting was on the Ang Ka nature trail near the highest point of Doi Inthanon National Park in northern Thailand, in late January.
A picture taken last April of 2010. The time where I don't even know what aperture, shutter, and iso mean :) Since this picture is that old, I gave it an old feeling by adding texture and changing to sepia tone ;)
Thanks for your visit, comments, and faves!
Have a great day my friends! :)
Two Bath & Hammondsport Alcos make they're way down west Chemung St in Painted Post, NY to retrieve inbound freight from Norfolk Southern. The interesting thing about the tracks and pavement together in this town is that at some point the track is on one side of the street, or the other side, or in the middle, or through a parking area!. It seems to take a new form at every intersection.
EN: For only two days the danish class MF DMU returned on Vogelfluglinie in 2022. The line via Flensburg was closed, and the passengers had to take the old way via Puttgarden - with the only different, that they had to use Bus from there to København. We observed IC 2503 by passing Hasselburg siding.
