A couple of snowdrops for Smile on Saturday "two-gether" theme. I almost forgot to take a photo for this week so rushed into what I thought was just a misty garden but found it was light drizzle! I am a bit damp now as I am never quick enough with my camera.

Two acorn woodpeckers. Possibly nest mates.

Interior of Two Temple Place taken during Openhouse 2017. Shot by resting my DSLR face up on a table below the staircaase and adjusted in Lightroom.

Two addicted or too addicted? What if we decided to avoid doing things that make us weak? A man smokes as another walks with a phone.

The Monastery at Lébény was established between 1199 and 1203, by a nobleman, for private worship. The complex was dedicated to the Apostle Saint James the Great. Though the existing charter for approving the donations and construction was signed by Andreas II (1208), one of the walls of the church had “1206” engraved in them, which may indicate that the church was already built at that time. It is also mentioned in the RegestrumVaradiense (an important language memorial), which was made in the late cathedral chapter of the present Oradea (Nagyvárad) in the 13th century. The monastery of Lébény was attacked and burnt down several times; the first by Mongols, then the second by King Ottokar I of Bohemia; and thereafter by the Turks, which was probably in 1529 and definitely in 1683. The monastery was taken back from the Turks by the arch-abbot of Pannonhalma in 1540. He named a new abbot, though the title only existed on paper for a little bit longer than two decades. In 1563 the monastery was burnt down again for the third time and was left devoured. Presently, the only part of the complex that is still standing is the iconic three-nave Romanesque church in the middle of Lébény village. This church is one of the most important Romanesque style buildings of Hungary, which was most probably restored in the 17th century by the Jesuits, and it was the first ever Hungarian monument that was restored in the second half of the 19th century. In addition, the Romanesque church is also operating as a parish of the village.

This last two weeks we travelled to Alaska and then back home and then onto Grasslands, Saskatchewan to see the night sky. A lot of miles!

I don't know how to photograph the night sky but my husband did for the first time. Our experience was ASTOUNDING! He came away from that experience with some beautiful shots.

Living in a city with so much light pollution we seldom get to view the depth of the real night sky. I still cannot process the amount of stars that popped out of the darkness to reveal themselves. We went to bed very late but I needed to look one more time at the sky. I got up at 2:00 am and woke up my husband to come out again. Then we got up at 4:00 am and again went out to see the incredible beauty of the night sky. How small we are as we go about our life's, underneath the canopy of the vast sky!

There are only two ways to live your life.

One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

Used the same feather which I found on street yesterday, the same feather was also in yesterday's shot. This time with my 100mm 2.8L macro glass. First attempt towards photographing water drops on a feather. Though the feather was appearing blackish, I like it was shinning deep purple and blueish when I used flashlight at a certain angle.

C-GLBO, the prototype Bombardier BD-700-2A12 (serial number 70001), was one second away from touching down on runway 33 at Downsview Airport in Toronto, Ontario. It was completing its maiden flight. Originally named Global 7000, the model was subsequently renamed Global 7500 after flight tests confirmed a greater than expected range capability - 7,700NM at Mach 0.85. The chase plane during this mission was C-GERS, the prototype Global 5000 (serial number 9127). It had flown for its first time at the same airport on March 7, 2003.

On a windy and cold day in Randolph, New Hampshire. My photographic forays from the vehicle were numerous, but brief, with the heat turned up high in between.

Thanks for visiting!

These looked like a couple of abandoned sheds, beside a church near the Ring of Brodgar, Orkney, but I think someone might have been living here at some point - there was the remains of a cooker inside.
