ALMOST A CIRCLE is the topic for October 4th - 10th 2025, Group Our Daily Challenge
---------------------------
Two horseshoes doing their best to form a circle, but like true good luck charms, they prefer to stay open to new possibilities. Who needs perfect geometry when double the luck is nailed to the door? A duo that says: “Only good vibes allowed in here!”

We are off once again to spend the harshest Canadian winter months in a warmer place. Although I love our winters I do not love them for the six months that they last here at Keefer Lake so Rosa and I choose to shorten it by a few months by living in Portugal. I am looking forward to reuniting with our Portuguese cousins and the sound of the waves on the beach. It will be a few days before I reconnect with you all from our abode at Praia Grande. Take good care!

Thank you every one for dropping by to view, comment or fave this piece of whimsy. Smiles to end the year I hope.
On a windy and cold day in Randolph, New Hampshire. My photographic forays from the vehicle were numerous, but brief, with the heat turned up high in between.
Thanks for visiting!

The rufous hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) is a small hummingbird, about 8 cm (3.1 in) long with a long, straight and slender bill. These birds are known for their extraordinary flight skills, flying 2,000 mi (3,200 km) during their migratory transits. It is one of seven species in the genus Selasphorus.
The adult male has a white breast, rufous face, flanks and tail and an iridescent orange-red throat patch or gorget. Some males have some green on back and/or crown. The female has green, white, some iridescent orange feathers in the center of the throat, and a dark tail with white tips and rufous base.
The female is slightly larger than the male. Females and the rare green-backed males are extremely difficult to differentiate from Allen's hummingbird. This is a typical-sized hummingbird, being a very small bird. It weighs 2–5 g (0.071–0.176 oz), measures 7–9 cm (2.8–3.5 in) long and spans 11 cm (4.3 in) across the wings.

Happy Spring PolaroidWeek 2016!
Day 1
The most wonderful time of the year! And it comes twice a year! :)
However, it's a very busy week for me so I'll apologize in advance for not being able to keep up with the pool and all the goings on this Polaroid Week. I will certainly check it all out next week when I'll have loads of time. Looking forward to seeing all the inspiring work in the pool!
Happiest of 'Roid Weeks to you all!

A mobile photo of two leaves floating on a lake in the reflection of some autumn trees. One leaf is easy to spot, can you find the second one?
Found ages ago when someone at the private nursing homes had cats.
Better viewed large, and thank you for your favourites. :)
A few years ago, I was staying at a cabin near Glacier with a dream of seeing a sunrise at Two Medicine with Mt. Sinopah reflected in the glass lake. Well, the wind picked up on my drive there and there were no clouds to add color to the morning. I managed the shot seen below in my photo stream - pre-dawn with the constellation Orion above the horizon.
Last week, however, I found myself in the same cabin with the same dream, and it happened to come true. I have to admit I was a bit lazy about it - we were running late because I missed the turn initially and didn't realize it until about 15 miles down the road - and didn't take the time to set up with a tripod. Although we were first on the scene, we didn't quite have the place to ourselves as we were joined by 2 other photographers that had the pleasure of viewing this with us.
