Up in the north of the island for a funeral on Thursday. Plenty of time to get up there so made a few pictures on the way.
These two trees were on the skyline off the Longford - Bishopsbourne Road.

This pano shows a view from the Zugspitze over the Alps in the north. I like the two clouds hanging in front of the tops and the wide view to the 'Alpenvorland'.
The pano is stitched from 4 single shots.
The full moon sets toward South Coyote Buttes lit by the rising sun, and framed by formations at White Pocket populated by a couple of corvids (probably ravens, but possibly crows). (#3)
Thanks for all your comments and favs- they are greatly appreciated, and Happy Easter
Early late September morning at Two Medicine Lake on the east side of Glacier National Park
Though there were no clouds, there was no wind which made for good conditions to highlight the reflections and colorful rocks.
Thanks for stopping in.
Pileated Woodpeckers (Dryocopus pileatus) form lifelong pair bonds, and--because they don't migrate--they defend their territories year-round. Photographed here is one such pair at the front end of a blizzard. The female is up top and the male below, and they can be distinguished by their facial markings. The male, proud of his 'moustache,' has painted it red. The female, perhaps a bit abashed, keeps hers black to match the majority of her coloration. These two will flit around in this forest until spring, spending the cold nights deep inside their tree cavity shelters. And in spring, the male with his showy stache will begin building a new home for his lady and coming babies.
This is the original unedited version of an earlier upload. I like the simplicity of it. I picked this flower in the field just as it is. Sorry if I haven't gotten to you stream this week. My internet has been down. But I'm catching up now :-)
This is a shot of a pastel drawing of Gloria Swanson on the November 1926 cover of Motion Picture magazine that I gave the mirror card treatment.

I think it's a juvenile squirrel with it's mum-- nothing amorous here! The second squirrel is a bit smaller than the one with its head up. The smaller one also kept nuzzling the belly of the larger.
Been playing with Nix Silver Efex Pro! This image was taken after a light dusting of snow on Exmoor.

I will take you and leave you alone
Watching spirals of white softly flow
Over your eyelids and all you did
Will wait until the point when you let go.
Those skyscrappers, the rounded and triangular one, are 49 and 42 floors respectively, and needless to say I was also shooting from floor 49. The opportunities there for compositions are truly endless.
