an old but unforgettable photo i did in Sabie Sands, 14th august 2015 .
at sunset time a beautiful young leopard (panthera pardus) male
called "Quarantine" climbed the termite mound next to us and
started watching the sunset.
then he decided to get up and leave.
the scene was too close for my camera lens so i decided to use my smartphone.
a now very old Samsung Note4 did his job .
the rangers were very surprised by this shot and they asked me a copy of the photo.
Quarantine is now a dominant male in sabie sands, this shot is in the ranger office.

Two's company - The maze like limestone pavement of Twisleton Scar End stretching out to Ingleborough in the distance on a bright spring morning. Two ash trees cling to the limestone in this seemingly inhospitable environment.

Macro Mondays theme : "The First Letter of My Surname"
My surname begins with the letter “T”.
And since I am longing for spring, I bought a nice bouquet of Tulips to get a head start.
These tulips are not as big as the regulars ones. Closed, they are merely 1” in diameter.
Anyhow, I made sure to respect the 3” guideline.
Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments
The feeding frenzy continues as the marsh seems to be overrun with newly hatched fish. Eagerly feeding on them are dozens and dozens of terns, egrets, herons and gulls. The wading birds stab at the fish with their sharp beaks from the shore but if you want to get to the big schools you have to venture into deeper water. That's where the terns and gulls are feasting. While the gulls have a more dainty approach of hovering over the surface until finally dropping in to grab a fish, The terns dive bomb from 20 feet up and impale fish on their large beaks.
This one shows of its skills by catching two fish at the same time.
The iridescent crescent- or tear-shaped spot on the head of these Eurasian teals is green or blue depending on the light.

Another photograph from one of my many country walks around the village of Ashwell, in Hertfordshire, the tree in the foreground framing the tree and the country house in the background.
This point near Bell Buoy Beach in northern Tasmania marks the beginning of a rocky reef. As the name suggests it extends out to sea and along the coast for two miles. It is one of the reasons the Low Head Lighthouse was built to warn shipping.
On a windy and cold day in Randolph, New Hampshire. My photographic forays from the vehicle were numerous, but brief, with the heat turned up high in between.
Thanks for visiting!
