Uh... Rex... you may want to look behind you :)
This shot took me a bit to get together. I had the idea of capturing the T-Rex as a silhouette, but I struggled for a bit to pull it off.
Eventually, I managed to get the look on wanted with some slight of hand.
The issue I was having was that light from my primary flash (used to light Rex and the baby dino) was spilling into the background and illuminating the T-Rex.
I overcame this by putting a black piece of paper in front of the T-rex when my flash was firing, and then moving it out of the shot after the flash, allowing the background silhouette to burn in.
It took a lot of failed lighting setups to get to that simple solution, but I think the final image was worth it.
Thanks to my local LEGO store for helping me get my hands on this Stranger Things mini-set. I couldn't wait to get it home and in front of my camera.
I may have gone a little overboard on the Stranger Things look, but I'm still happy with how this shot turned out.
The specs in the shot were created by punching holes in a piece of black paper and attaching it to a small softbox on my flash. I then manually triggered my flash multiple times during the exposure to burn the spots into the frame.
It's a simple technique, that I've used multiple times to create different effects.
Speaking of techniques, keep your eyes on Toyphotographers.com - My latest post about creative camera shake goes up 6/28 (I think). Thanks for looking.
Galaxys Edge may be the pinnacle of Star Wars theming, but I'll never forget the first time I laid eyes on this AT-AT outside Star Tours.
Seeing this as a Star Wars kid was beyond amazing, not to mention how great the attraction was. If only there was a way to relocate both to Batuu.

Attempting to improve on a shot that I had taken back in 2015. I still need to figure out how to get my rain to come through on both sides of the photo. Probably could have added another flash on the left side to help out there.
I'm also seriously using and abusing this Prism FX lens filter. Move over JJ, lens flare for days!!!
Thanks for looking and have a great day.
A picture I did as a mashup with one of the great scenes from the Empire Strikes Back. It was also for an article at ToyPhotographers.com going over how I edit my photos on my phone.

I'll admit, I totally geeked out over this Star Wars stage show at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Ok, pardon the bad Jungle Cruise pun, but we did not have a good experience at Skipper Canteen.
Quite a bummer, as I was very eager to check out this place on our trip.
My wife and I both ordered the Rice Noodle Bowls (chicken - me, duck = wife) and both were just awful.
Mine tasted like wet mushrooms & chicken. The broth was completely devoid of flavor. To the point I almost asked my server if they forgot to prepare our dishes.
My parents joined us for dinner and were unimpressed with their meals as well.
The ambiance of Skipper Canteen is so fantastic, that it makes it that much more disappointing the menu (at least what we sampled) wasn't up to par.
Perhaps there is some truth to the rumor that the menu is going down for a refurb. Hopefully they can add some flavor to the selections while keeping them interesting enough for an adventurous palate.
Thanks for looking & have a great day,
-Alan

Can't you just hear Peter Quil saying something like this to the Mandalorian? Then again, I dunno if he would call Grogu a gremlin. According to the internet, Peter was on Earth until 1988 so there is a good chance he saw both Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He might have actually called Grogu baby Yoda like the rest of us :)
I think the focus blur of the previous version was a bit too much. Though not quite accurate to the source, I like it better with a sharper focus.
What do you think?

Getting back to shooting the remaining Star Wars Disney Infinity figures I have. Had a harder time making these lightsabers glow in camera. The blue sabers don't react to the black light as well as the green ones do.
One of my favorite spots at Galaxy's Edge is Oga's Cantina. Both days I visited Batuu started with breakfast at the cantina enhoying a Blue Bantha and Rising Moons Overnight Oats.
Oga's is made even better with the addition of a familiar face, Captain R3X.
R3X has retired from Star Tours service, and now spends his days (and nights) spinning the galaxy's greatest tunes for all that enter Oga's establishment.
The soundtrack from the cantina is fantastic, and it's great background music to throw on while working.
Really looking forward to my next visit to Galaxy's Edge in the (hopefully) not too distant future.

Finally got Zeb out of his box. Super awesome figure. Really hope we one day get a Kallus figure to add to the Rebels line.
I just happened to be going through some stuf when The Prince of the Cosmos and BB-8 bought caught my eye. I started to wonder what a Katamari game would be like if the pricing was rolling BB-8 around. It was pretty frightening to consider from BB-8's perspective. Hence the title of this photo.. though perhaps I should change it to, "Roll, BB-8! ROLL!!!"

I can't take credit for this shot. I was sorting LEGO bricks by color when I looked into my light grey bin and saw what is pictured above. I grabbed my camera, took a shot and here is the result.
Can't wait to finally see Rogue One this week!
Thanks for looking and may the force be with you.
Kidding, kidding - though I do wonder if Grogu will be in Season 3 or not. Mando still has some stuff to sort out for himself - the Darksaber with Bo-Katan, being a child of "The Watch". I'm sensing we are going to see see some serious stuff on Mandalore in season 3. Maybe not so much for Baby Rancor.
Thinking of some alternative backstories for Snoke... I dunno... what do you think?
"I LIKE GOOOLLLLDDDD"
Digging through my old Disney shots, daydreaming about when we can make our next trip.
I'm happy to see the parks taking steps to re-open, but even with the new safety measures I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. Certainly not 2020.
How about you? When do you think you'll feel comfortable enough to visit again?

Unlike wookies, I'm certain that BB-8 won't pull your arms out of their sickets if he loses...
Fairly certain, that is.

That last episode of The Mandalorian is going to be a tough one to top. Can't wait to see where things take Mando and The Child. This Is the Way
This scene in the trailer has a really awesome, sunset-esque lighting too it that I tried hard (and failed) to replicate. It may have been more than my two, trusty LED flashlights could handle. Still happy with how it came out though. Hoping to go see the movie with my little, big man tomorrow. Looks like a good time.
One of my biggest regrets from my short time at Galaxy's Edge was not spending more time browsing Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities.
I only had a few hours to explore, which meant a few quick photo's in Dok's shop before I was out the door.
Dok's Den is loaded with so much detail as well as goods for sale, and I can't wait to get back there to soak them in, as well possibly purchase a few antiquities to bring home.
Next time, Dok.... next time...

I've been having a lot of fun running around in Fortnite as the Mandolorian and collecting bounties. I came across a Peely in carbonite in the game which inspired this shot.
Thanks for looking, and have a great day
