One of my nephews recently visited and brought over a LEGO photo he had taken (used with his permission in the background).
Super proud of him, and a great photo to start out with. Plus, it made me the cool uncle when I showed him my setup and shots. To infinity, and beyond, little buddy.
PS - trying a new lighting setup. Well... an old lighting setup I guess. Went back to using a flash along with an umbrella.
Still trying to figure out the best settings to reduce hotspots/reflections, but man, what a struggle when shooting such tiny subjects.
This is my favorite line from The Force Awakens. Hopefully it's not a spoiler to anyone who hasn't seen the film. Then again, if you haven't seen it by now what are you waiting for?

I don't play nearly as many games as I used to, but one game that I haven't been able to get enough of recently is Overwatch from Blizzard Entertainment.
Though I was late to jump in, ever since I picked it up I've been having trouble putting it down.
It's a fun, stress free, multiplayer shotoer with plenty of style, class and variety. It plays smooth and win or lose, I manage to have fun 99% of the time.
Looking forward to seeing what the game has in store for 2017.
Ps - Tengaport is my gamertag. Feel free to add me if you're up for some Overwatch

Finally got to see Captain Marvel. Late to the party, but I absolutely loved it. Immediately ordered this custom minifigure from Lab9.
Loving this Captain Marvel minifigure from Lab9minifigures. Wish we got more, official LEGO sets from that movie. The Minn-Erva (Spelling?) minifigure is a cheap, knock off - but I think there are some HQ customs out now, so I may upgrade her.
47 days. Can't wait!
Another fun MOC build &shot to put together.
I tried a few variations on this shot before settling in on this one. The starfield is a piece of sparkly paper with two flashlights shining on it.
To get the blue color, I covered the lens with a blue gel for a few seconds of the exposure, then removed it while the shutter was still open to burn in the rest of the image.
What do you think?
Where is General Mayhem taking our heros? And what dangers await them at the Systar System? Only a few more weeks until we find out!
I only had a few hours to explore Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World, which was difficult, as the land is littered with Star Wars eye candy.
I was so looking forward a return visit this April, but COVID-19 had other plans.
Hopefully these R2 units are immune to infection as I'm eager to see them again someday soon.

Dick Grayson was completely in awe of the Pick a Brick wall at the LEGO Store in the Mall of America. He and I visited the store while traveling for work.
Shout out to Wes at the store for hooking me up with a Batman accessory pack during out visit.
I shot this with my Olympus TG-3 which I typically travel with when I don't have my Sony A6300. I like the camera, but I'm worried it's started to show it's age in bit when it comes to IQ.
May have to look for a new point and shoot replacement at some point.
Another WDW trip in the books. As expected, had a great time and already eagerly anticipating a return.
Until then, goodnight Magic Kingdom. See ya real soon.
Having fun with this Ant-Man figure. Jantmanuary was a perfect opportunity to us my Star Wars Mission Fleet figures.
Happy New Year, everyone!
Hoping 2017 is filled with health, happiness and of course, LEGO!
This shot took way longer than I'd like to admit.
I used the LED light on my iPhone and a red gel to light paint the "2017" and if I wasn't going out of frame with the numbers I was knocking Kylo Ren over.
Eventually, I just gave up figuring this was the best it was going to get... Hoping for more patience and a steadier hand in the new year.
Can you imagine these two running around together? Maybe Groot will make a cameo appearance in an upcming episode of The Mandalorian.
I can't wait for Star Wars Squadrons. As a kid I played the hell out of all the old Star Wars X-Wing vs TIE Fighter games.Even temped to pick up a PS4 PRO ans PSVR to play this sucker.
The Diver looks great in her printed wetsuit, but would you just look at that sea turtle accessory! I know we have seen LEGO turtles before, but this one is just awesome. Like the Piñata Boy, I can see people scooping up several of the Diver minifigure just for the turtle.
Like Hip Hop Girl, the Diver comes with a posing stand, with instructions on how to use it in an upside down manner.
Feel Tips: This one was difficult for me to find. I had trouble identifying the turtle in the bag. I had an easier time finding the leaf (there were two in the bag) and the flippers.

I know, two LEGO Dimensions shots in a row. What can I say, the game has been on pretty much non-stop since my son opened it on Christmas.
I get such a kick out of seeing the assorted minifigures working together on the LEGO portal that I can't help but snap photos of them in action.
The game has been a ton of fun to play. It's an amazing mash up for LEGO fans and with all the available team & level packs there is bound to be something for everyone.
I'm loving the Portal levels in particular, as that game is one of my all time favorites. That is when my son allows me to play. Which isn't often.
I got my son LEGO DIMENSIONS for the holidays, and the game has been a ton of fun for the whole family. My Star Wars minifigs wanted in on the action, but unfortunately they are not supported :(
I still couldn't resist this shot though when I saw the Dimensions portal lit up red, blue and green.
Haven't posted to Flickr in a while. Is this thing still on? Are people still here? Has anything changed since I've been gone?
Simple, but fun shot tonight. I've been wanting to tackle this shot for a while, but needed Rey with her new hairdo :)
Who is ready for the Endgame?
This shot was created using a practical effect called Pepper's Ghost, and with an awesome HUD designed by Fabio Alves (used with his permission). www.instagram.com/fasartes/
I'll have a tutorial for this effect up on ToyPhotographers.com soon.
In anticipation of the Mass Effect Legendary Edtiion releasing in May I've returned to Andromeda. I stopped playing this game sometime in 2017 due to a lack of interested, but I'm back now and really enjoying my time with the Tempest crew.

Could resist grabbing this Playmobil figure while he was on sale at Amazon. Wasn't sure what I was going to do with him, but I think a mash up against Hasbro's Plasma Series Terror Dog seemed fitting.
I realize I've been abusing those lens flares lately, courtesy of Prism FX's Flare FX filter. It's just too much fun, so sorry, not sorry.
Thanks for looking
Now that the trailer is out, what is your feeling about the new Solo movie? I'm optimistic. Looks like a fun sci-fi flick. Will be there on day 1 with the usual suspects.
Happy Halloween, everyone.
Fun shot to put together here. I used a 10 second exposure, though the actual exposure was more like 3 seconds. After the flash fired,
I covered my lens with black paper. While it was covered, I moved the figures out of the scene. Then, I uncovered the lens for 2 seconds or so to give the figures a bit of a transparent, other-worldly type look.
It's a simple trick, just takes a little bit of effor to get it just right.
Thanks for looking and happy halloween.
