Tuxedo is a town located in Orange County, New York along the Ramapo River. Pierre Lorillard, heir to the Lorillard Tobacco Company is often associated with Tuxedo Park since between 1802 and 1812 he purchased the first tracts of land upon which it later would be developed. Several theories surround the invention of the "tuxedo", but popular belief that it is surrounded by two theories, the first theory suggests that it was introduced by Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII while American believes that it is introduced by Pierre Lorillard IV. The residents of tuxedo park permitted their guests to build the own social organization named “Tuxedo Club”.The first Annual Bal of tuxedo club held on 1986 and during that time tailcoat was purely preferred as the traditional attire, but he commissioned tailless tuxedo for his son Griswold to wear at the ball. Due to the wealthy status of the young Griswold, it was considered as a striking fashion and well admitted by many gentlemen in “Dress Circle of New York’s Metropolitan Opera” in 1889.This recent provocative style was dubbed as “Tuxedo” which leads the radical departure of tailcoat.

Good morning. For today, and most likely the rest of the week, I'll be posting images of different birds taken in and around the birdbath, starting with this uniquely North American Catbird, whose plumage for some reason reminds me of a tuxedo.
The Grey Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis) is a medium-sized perching bird of the mimid family. It is the only member of New World catbird genus Dumetella. Like the Black Catbird of southern Mexico and Central America, it is among the basal (i.e. diverging) lineages of the Mimidae. Mimids are the New World family of passerine birds, Mimidae, that includes thrashers, mockingbirds, tremblers, and the New World catbirds. As their name (Latin for "mimic") suggests, these birds are notable for their vocalization, especially some species' remarkable ability to mimic a wide variety of birds and other sounds heard outdoors...although the Catbird is considered a poor imitator in comparison to the Mockingbird.
Adults are dark gray with a slim, black bill and dark eyes. They have a long dark tail, dark legs and a dark cap; they are rust-colored underneath their tail, which can be clearly see in a photo in the comments section. Both the male and female are similar in appearance and nearly impossible to distinguish apart.
Thanks for visiting...and I hope everyone has a most pleasant day.

One of the lakes on the Seven Lakes Drive we passed thru on our Fall foliage chase.
Seven Lakes Drive is a north–south parkway located in the Hudson Valley region of New York in the United States. It extends for just under 18 miles (29 km) on a northeast–southwest alignment from an intersection with New York State Route 17 (NY 17) in the village of Sloatsburg to a junction with U.S. Route 9W (US 9W) and US 202 south of the Bear Mountain Bridge in the town of Stony Point. Most of the highway is located in either Harriman or Bear Mountain state parks, except for a small stretch near its western end. Ownership of Seven Lakes Drive is split between three entities, two of which are also responsible for maintenance of the road.
As its name implies, Seven Lakes Drive passes by seven lakes located at various points along the road. From south to north, the lakes are Lake Sebago and Lake Kanawauke in the towns of Haverstraw and Tuxedo; Lake Skannatati and Lake Askoti in Tuxedo; Lake Tiorati in Tuxedo and Woodbury; Silver Mine Lake in Woodbury; and Queensboro Lake in Highlands.

Just packing up my brand-new tuxedo, which I hope is my Final Tuxedo. My first I purchased in grad school, 1986-87. The next I got in 2000. When I put that on after some time in 2019, oof! My 2019 waistline didn't like it! And my 2022 waistline couldn't have taken it. This new bespoke dinner suit couldn't be more flattering or elegant. I feel very lucky.
