At Little Painted Desert in Arizona, this particular formation struck me as looking delicious. The white top is about 100 yards long.
Dressed for the occasion, a male kolea in breeding plumage is often referred to as wearing a tuxedo due to the black and white coloration on the neck and chest. This migratory Pacific golden plover (Pluvialis fulva) spent the winter in Hawaii fattening up for a four day, 3,000 mile, non-stop journey across the north Pacific to Alaskan breeding grounds.

These elegant looking ducks always seem to me as though they're sporting a tuxedo.

Band members at the Daytona Beach Boardwalk - do not think it was "band camp."
Photo essay of images from the Daytona Beach Boardwalk, Daytona Beach, Florida
This was taken just before we took Buddy to the vet on Wednesday. The vet gave Buddy an antibiotic shot, an injection of steroids, and tested his blood.. he's anemic and has lost another half pound just since last week.
Today is Saturday, August 20.. Buddy is doing much better now! He's eating just about normally, he's drinking lots, and he seems much stronger now,. He wants lots of attention.. which I am giving him. I hope this lasts! He goes back to the vet for another check on Monday.
Tuxedo is a town located in Orange County, New York along the Ramapo River. Pierre Lorillard, heir to the Lorillard Tobacco Company is often associated with Tuxedo Park since between 1802 and 1812 he purchased the first tracts of land upon which it later would be developed. Several theories surround the invention of the "tuxedo", but popular belief that it is surrounded by two theories, the first theory suggests that it was introduced by Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII while American believes that it is introduced by Pierre Lorillard IV. The residents of tuxedo park permitted their guests to build the own social organization named “Tuxedo Club”.The first Annual Bal of tuxedo club held on 1986 and during that time tailcoat was purely preferred as the traditional attire, but he commissioned tailless tuxedo for his son Griswold to wear at the ball. Due to the wealthy status of the young Griswold, it was considered as a striking fashion and well admitted by many gentlemen in “Dress Circle of New York’s Metropolitan Opera” in 1889.This recent provocative style was dubbed as “Tuxedo” which leads the radical departure of tailcoat.
