This turtle was found back-stroking swimming for some reason. I've never seen a turtle back-stroke swim before so this was interesting to watch.

Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park is a small park that also touches about four miles of the Gulf of Mexico. It is located in Port Richey, FL in western Pasco County. There are so many opportunities to see animals in the natural habitat including gray fox, alligators, gopher tortoises, and endless species of birds.
Also, make yourself at home with the beautiful greenery that surrounds the whole park. If you are lucky, you may see a colorful butterfly, or the many animals that make the park their home.

This is a series of photos I took of it before I released it in a pond on a farm near where I picked it up a few hours earlier.

An Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina caroline) waiting to cross Hawkin Rd. in Burlington County, NJ. Although this seems like a peaceful county road, the turtle had had at least one near-miss previously (more here).
