The Northern Harrier was active this morning hunting the wetlands in search of the next meal. Unfortunately while I was there she did not seem to have success but I am sure she will as the day goes on. Such a beautiful species and a thrill to watch.

Wishing you a beautiful day !!!

This was the spot at the Narrows that we had decided to turn around as our relatives were waiting for us at the visitor center. It was only about a little over a mile upstream in the Virgin River from Temple of Sinawava . We couldn't reach the Wall Street this time. Still it was fun hiking the Narrows. I think we have to start early in the morning next time without any non-hiker companion in order to go deeper.

I'm finally back from my exam journey through knowledge, sweat and excessive headache. I hope my uni plans will be fulfilled. Can't wait to unpack some LEGO gifts today and share more amazing creations very soon with you guys! :D

Photo taken last year in Rotterdam.

Trees in the Rich Mountain area have just started to change color as fall sets in over Page, OK where a northbound empty grain train rounds a curve on the unseasonably warm afternoon of Sunday, October 6, 2024.

This photo was taken just a few minutes after the previous photo that I posted (at Easter Lake in Des Moines, Iowa). Although there were no clouds in the previous sunset shot, all I had to do was turn around. It’s kind of neat, because unless you are in a boat, it’s rare that you can capture two different sunset scenes over water by simply turning around.

|| first pose I made from scratch in Black Dragon, what better birthday present could I give myself?

With the short winter days the chlorophyll fades away, revealing the vibrant yellow that was hidden inside all along.

Lighting: An SB-900 in a 28" softbox camera left and a little behind the subject as the key. Fill came from an SB-800 with a diffusion dome through a small white reflector camera left, and from a large white reflector camera right.

Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life.

Autumn Colors,are showing up.

It's a couple of days until the Autumn Equinox and we're really starting to feel the changes as the nights are drawing in. There's now a distinct nip in the morning air and the hedgerows and local orchards are burgeoning with ripe autumn fruits.

At 190.4 meters, Turning Torso is the third tallest residential building in Europe, after the 264-meter skyscraper Triumph Palace in Moscow and the 212-meter skyscraper Sky Tower in Wrocław.

The construction is based on nine cubes with five floors in each cube. Including the intermediate floors, there will be a total of 54 floors. Each floor is about 400 m². The total office space comprises approx. 4,200 m² and is located in the two lowest cubes. Cube three to cube nine comprise a total of 147 apartments. The top two floors (53 and 54) are the Turning Torso Meetings conference facility. Each floor basically consists of a square part around the core and a triangular part, which is partly supported by an external steel support structure. The entire structure turns a quarter of a turn on its way up.

I've just finished a series of leaf abstracts - a thoroughly enjoyable project from start to finish. :)

Brown Eyed Susan in my garden...

I wish the others turned these colors!

Turning around, we see the previously posted train heading into the town, which is a classic small town, old school railroading scene. Along the road, we see everything you needed for railfanning back then, including gas, a beer store, grill, motel, and the station (high black roof). Just before the station, there is a section house with MofW speeders that have just pulled in to clear up for train traffic.

In the very nice looking station there was still a operator that provided train info. And to a young punk as myself, best of all, the operator here (and some other ONR locations) wasn't just friendly, she was also drop dead gorgeous! One also has to love the loads of Appalachian real estate heading somewhere into the northern woodlands.
