Tram 113 is on a test run turning from King William Road on to North Terrace East; the other one was turning from King William Street on to North Terrace West. The turn the 113 is on is unlikely to be used during day to day operations, as there is no return. These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
Day in Oxford on a cold October day in 2012. We stayed here two nights.
Christ Church Cathedral.
The cathedral was originally the church of St Frideswide's Priory. The site was historically presumed to be the location of the nunnery founded by St Frideswide, the patron saint of Oxford, and the shrine now in the Latin Chapel, originally containing relics translated at the rebuilding in 1180, was the focus of pilgrimage from at least the 12th until the early 16th century.
In 1522, the priory was surrendered to Thomas Cardinal Wolsey, who had selected it as the site for his proposed college. However, in 1529 the foundation was taken over by Henry VIII. Work stopped, but in June 1532 the college was refounded by the King. In 1546, Henry VIII transferred to it the recently created See of Oxford from Osney. The cathedral has the name of Ecclesia Christi Cathedralis Oxoniensis, given to it by Henry VIII's foundation charter.
There has been a choir at the cathedral since 1526, when John Taverner was the organist and also master of the choristers. The statutes of Wolsey's original college, initially called “Cardinal College”, mentioned 16 choristers and 30 singing priests.
Christ Church Cathedral is one of the smallest cathedrals in the Church of England.
The nave, choir, main tower and transepts are late Norman. There are architectural features ranging from Norman to the Perpendicular style and a large rose window of the ten-part (i.e. botanical) type.

Oxford, a city in central southern England, revolves around its prestigious university, established in the 12th century. The architecture of its 38 colleges in the city’s medieval center led poet Matthew Arnold to nickname it the 'City of Dreaming Spires'. University College and Magdalen College are off the High Street, which runs from Carfax Tower (with city views) to the Botanic Garden on the River Cherwell.

Plenty of sunshine but no clouds. The low sun gave a bit of color to the rocks in the foreground. Wasn't sure whether to get rid of the silhouetted figure on the right but perhaps it balances out the composition a little?
Turning on the east loop with burning coal coming out of the stack, D&RGW 464 completes another lap around Michigan's Huckleberry Railroad.
Soon I'll have some fresh new narrow gauge photos to share, hopefully with more sunshine than this 2009 image.

While out shooting at the local mall there were plenty of folks that were amazed (or scared).
(Note: gathering too much of an audience will get you to be asked to stop by mall security as they prefer to not have aisles blocked with onlookers)
The Battle of Britain 80th anniversary commemorative formation of The Blades aerobatic team, led by a Hurricane and a Spitfire, turns over Dorking to complete a circuit before heading to Kenley and Biggin Hill. The Hurricane has a three-bladed propellor while the Spitfire has four.

when i moved to upstate new york, i left my beloved southern magnolias behind, but... they have been replaced by these beautiful japanese magnolias. the tree behind our house was literally covered by hundreds of these, and more than a few of them made their way into our home.
this photograph is dedicated to my wonderful friend and photographer, erin. many of you know her work already, but if you don't be sure to check her out.
sometimes in life we have to decide:
shall we proceed with our life just as it is? everything is fine, you're happy most of the time but still sometimes you have the feeling to miss something.
or shall we turn our life upside down? you don't know what will happen it could go completely wrong and you will be unhappy or you could make new experience and reach a level of happiness you didn't even know is possible or at least can't remember.
But if you only think about it and never do someting, you actually decide for the first alternative. But is that the right decision?
