but being ~250km from my preferred curry house drastic measures needed to be taken...

a raid on the herb and vege patch and hanging store finds galanga, tumeric, ginger, garlic, chilli, shallots, kaffir lime and lemongrass

On top of tumeric chicken rice.

I finished it with a little half and half and some flat parsley...

these were last year's vegetable dyed eggs: tumeric, onion skins and cabbage

I created this from looking online and getting some ideas what to do with raw celery root... I shredded the celery root and carrots in the food process and added diced apples and red onions. The dressing is hemp seeds, olive oil, water, sea salt, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, mustard powder, agave nectar, raw garlic, black pepper and tumeric... blended and poured over veggies... Lish!

Broke a newly re-planted large pot and it (the pot) decided to go down fighting, taking a bite out of my left foot. At least my nail polish matches the pot and my blood made an interesting pattern on the concrete. The yellow is from the tumeric I used to clean and fill the wound, and it is staining everything in my home.

For my art gcse i made foodscapes, and this is a shot of some trees in autumn, they are made of broccoli and they have chilli, tandoori and tumeric powders on them to give the autumnal colours. The hills are made from lettuce, the clouds made from cauliflower, the church tower made cheese and the sky was a kitchen towel :) The path is made from whole oats and the pavement is made from kiwi fruit skin.

street + spicy's the next fall in to food event by www.shareyourtable.com featuring a cooking class and lunch taught by chef lance kosaka of cafe julia.

chef lance will be sharing how to make an asian style crostini, his own variation on vietnamese pork lettuce wraps and tasty make-ahead marinades and salad dressings using asian spices that you can whip up effortlessly for family get togethers!

class concludes with a delicious three-course lunch by chef lance served family style, and a special tea and tisane tasting by lynette jee of the pacific place tea garden!

about the tea and tisanes

pink bamboo ginger forest. this is a medley of two special tisanes created by the pacific place tea garden. it's a blend of passionfruit, bamboo leaves, pineapple and beets combined with a healthy note of tumeric ginger, schizandra berries and tangerine to create a refreshing beverage.

organic lemongrass is delicious as an herbal tea. used by herbalists for a cleansing tonic effect, it has a wonderful aromatic note to clear the mind.

dragon phoenix jasmine pearl sorbet. artisan hand-crafted pearls of jasmine leaf are carefully rolled from leaf into a ball called a "pearl". when steeped, the pearl unfurls into a long green leaf making an exquisite jasmine tea. the pacific place has infused the jasmine into a sorbet for a wonderful new experience with tea.

more goodies

L-R ...

Steamed rice.

Raita - yogurt and cucumber with coriander.

Perch (fish) with tamarind - made a coconut milk based sauce with mustard seeds, ginger, chillies, coriander, tomatoes and tamarind.

Cabbage with Split Peas - has coriander, cumin, chillies, curry leaves, mustard seeds, split peas and tumeric.

Turkey sausage. Capsicums were roasted and then added to the rice which was spiced with tumeric, cumin seed and smoked paprika.

This doesn't take a long time for physical attentive cooking - but cooking the black beans from scratch meant that I started preparations 10 hours before serving.

@Lekkers,Nasi Kuning ( Yellow Rice ).It has the woody fragrant of tumeric. Indonesian Traditional Food.

Trans yellow comparison

1. Upper left (moc), TLG original (new) trans yellow.

2. Lower left (5 parts including radar dish), boiled water and tumeric. My new favorite method but be careful to wash your hands well afterwards, it stains everything.

3. Far right 3×6×1 windshield only, Alcohol dye

This method is very good but it is hard to get everywhere including inside, if you do not completely cover you may see shade differences. If you are able to fully cover the plastic, the result is spot on. Use a good professional fine paint brush from an arts store (where you would get the dye) and the coverage should be nice and even.

4. Upper old style windshield next to marker, Yellow sharpie. Can't tell in photo but sharpie leaves streaks and lines. Also hard to get good coverage.

In terms of Tint I cannot see a real difference to trans yellow molded in last couple of years.

Ideal summer dish of lightly fried tofu coated with turmeric and lemongrass over a bed of vermicelli noodles and aromatic Vietnamese herbs. Visit: www.platedpalate.com for my recipe.

this image tells a lot - not a typical shot from a wedding but it has its story.

you see the brides toes, the priest hands and the Thaali or the sacred thread on the tumeric covered coconut.

the bride was all concentrated and demure throughout the ceremony but her toes spelt a fun women as they continued to dance to their own music.

Magnolia was almost dead when I met her. Malnourished. She also had deep infection; I could tell from the vomiting. So I fed her. Her and the rest, equal-opportunity. Several trays. Supplemented with soft treats because of the hardness of typical dog food. Usually scrambled eggs (mixed with Tumeric), diced yams and yucas, supplements (Omega 3's and Milk Thistle) wrapped in cheese. Magnolia is more suited to be an indoor dog. She can be a bit too responsive to her surroundings. Magnolia still sleeps outside. But now she sleeps in a healthy body. The beauty queen of the group, always grooming. But she is not vain. What the hell else is she supposed to do all day. Work?
