With debate ongoing over the future of the 59/2s with the takeover of Mendip stone traffic by Freightliner approaching, there has been an influx of Class 60s of late.

I've been waiting to get some decent traction in good light here for some time, but the matching loco and wagons was a definite bonus

Check out the line to the tug.
This is how they keep the ship in the channel, one tug at the stern and one or two at the side of the ship, it's something to watch.
The main target for Wednesday was the Kirkby Thore - Tees Dock gypsum empties.
The reason for this was the allocation of a Class 60 for the duration of the Autumn "leaf fall" season as per last year.
In 2018 I only managed one shot of a Tug heading this working and that was in the dull so this was the number one priority for me.
We knew from info' obtained the previous day that a 60 was a possibility and an early TOPS list confirmed it.
The WTT path of this train (10.44 ex Newbiggin) makes photting it a difficult task as for the majority of its journey on the S&C it is heading almost directly into the sun (should it be out) so the news that the 60 was running in a VAR path with a 12.44 departure from the plant was most welcome, giving us a good few options.
After giving Ais Gill some consideration we plumped for Garsdale and with the forecast few fluffy clouds keeping away from the sun I'd say we had a result.

A full hull model for display of a american style harbour tug. The model contains lots of details.
storage space on the front and rear deck. A slidingdoor to enter the detailed wheelhouse which also has a detachable roof for easy access.
There is a achor winch located at the bow and yellow engine underneath the funnel. Yellow so it must be a Caterpilar engine.
To be able to use this model in my harbour lay-out I made the underwatership in two pieces. you can easily lift off the the top part and put it in any lay-out.

Svitzer Tugs Ayton Cross & Svitzer Milford make a run back to their berths at James Watt Dock - Greenock after being called out to assist a large bulker amid some of the best landscapes can offer on the upper Firth of Clyde on a fresh but gorgeous autumn day.
Playing around with layout :) Using this as my desktop image! Looks much better viewed large or original fit to screen. Snipe absolutely loves to play tug, especially with his leash! We ordered it for him from Rush to Tug (www.rushtotug.com/) . I highly recommend their products - hand made and great quality! Sniper is definitely a character!

History
SHEEN was built by John Chambers & Co. of Lowestoft in 1925. Originally a steam tug, she was converted to diesel in 1962.
She was owned and run by Tough Bros and was one of two tugs that gathered up small boats off the Thames for the Dunkirk evacuations during the Second World War. SHEEN also went over to the beaches and was filmed returning the little ships after the evacuation.
Still in working order, SHEEN is under private ownership with the aim of being restored to her former glory.

You seem too good
Too good to be true
You're holding me stronger
Stronger than I'm used to
Don't go out with the boys tonight
I won't sleep a wink
Wondering what you're doing
Don't go out with the girls tonight
Have a ton to drink
Wondering what you're proving
You seem too good
Too good to be true
I'm loving you longer
Longer that I'm used to
Don't go out with the boys tonight
I won't sleep a wink
Wondering what you're doing
Don't go out with the girls tonight
I will turn to drink
Wondering what you're proving
Tug of war
Sweet as sin
I let go
I fell in
Feel the pull
Call your name
I'm alone
Once again

With a lack of outings recently it's once again back to the archives and this shot, taken 19 months ago on a warm August day, which sees DBS Tug 60001 hauling the 14.30 Humber Oil Refinery - Kingsbury (6M00) loaded oil tanks.
The train is approaching Humber Road South overbridge - locally known as Boots Bridge seeing as their huge industrial plant is just out of shot on the right. Nottingham City skyline, some 3 miles distant, forms the impressive backdrop. The section of track here is very busy, and the train is on the slow line waiting for a path to Trent Junction where it will take the more leisurely freight-only route through Castle Donnington to Stenson Junction.
About 50 years ago there was another loop to the right of the Tug, and it wasn't unusual to see a pair of coal trains from the North Notts coalfield occupying both lines waiting their turn to move on. My only 8F cabbing took place just here in the early 60s with loco 48127 - I can still remember the heat of the fire and the struggle to clamber down again from the footplate, a big drop for an 8/9 year old lad!

Tug boats Jimmy L. and Donny S. were working the ice in the Surgeon Bay ship Canal before the arrival of the James R. Barker at Sturgeon Bay for winter lay-up. This was about 1 hour before the Barker arrived they had completed their work up the channel and were preparing to move on to the area near Bay Shipbuilding.
