A tug named Proceed (126gt) slowly decaying on the River Weaver Navigation southwest of Northwich Cheshire, moored at the former Pimblotts Boatyard (now Jalsea Marine Services), on researching she was originally built in Belgium in 1955 working in Holland before use on the Tyne & Mersey in the UK, according to the local press she arrived at this rather rundown boatyard in 2004 under her own power.

Kevern is a pusher/tug built in Japan in 2006. Its former name was Azuma Maru which was changed to Levern in 2007, she is currently registered under the British flag.

Levern was allocated to the Tyne for a short time because of the volume of traffic and a shortage of tugs on the river.

She is seen here proceeding to the mouth of the river for its next turn of duty.

As she came alongside the river mist, known locally as The Larry made for some interesting shots. The tug 'Teign C' is still acting as pilot boat and provided assistance to get the ship alongside.

Seems once a locomotive falls onto the Carlisle to Chirk logs, it stays there. Previous incumbent 66849 did a stint of nearly eight months, and replacement 60087 thus far has clocked up seven weeks.

The opposite seems to happen with the flows to Chirk from Exeter and Baglan Bay, with those it's simply a case of what Colas choose to throw out from Canton, 60002/021/076 and 60085 have all taken a turn.

Hey, no complaints here though, how could I when you get an evening that produces 3 class 60's at Chirk? On this night, 14 July 2015, 6J37/6C37 Carlisle logs with 60087, 6M86/6V80 steel with 60100 and 6M51/6V54 logs producing 60085.

Passing me above is 60087, leading 6J37 Carlisle-Chirk through Helsby, 14 July 2015.

There are now three puppies on our little street, which will make for fabulous puppy play dates! I was just about bowled over for this shot, as they were quite literally "in my face" during this game of tug of war. Echo is approaching 5 months old, and Cooper (the black lab puppy) is a couple months older and significantly heavier! They had a ball.
