It is one of the best examples of the English landscape style of garden. Stourhead, in Wiltshire, is one of the National Trust’s most popular sites. It was given to the National Trust by the Hoare family in 1946. It is one of the most magnificent manor houses and gardens in the country.

I need to get back into my photography so posting a winter scene taken at Croome Park National Trust yesterday.
This is Mai, one of the canadian wolf pack at the UK Wolf Trust. She's howling to communicate back with the other wolves in their enclosures. I took this photo while out on a members walk where the wolves are taken out of their enclosure by handlers to walk alongside trust members.

In ancient times, back in my town there was a myth that if you draw a circle around you, the paranormal forces wouldn’t be able to harm you. The village was remote, population was sparse and travelling mode was by foot or using animals. So, this myth helped the solitary travellers keep moving during lone nights of burning summer.
Indeed, there is wall, a boundary that protects us from all cruelties of world and nurtures our soul; home and our family. Family isn’t a mere relationship between a group of fellows living together. It’s a bond of hearts and connection between souls. It’s not about sharing space or food but falling in lifelong selfless love and building unshakable trust.

Idyllic 18th century water mill with a distinctive conical-roofed kiln and red pantiled buildings.
The mill remained in operation until 1959 and the water-wheel and machinery all still work.

One of the characters I ran across at cabbagetown fest, Toronto. This guy is all around wicked, I could photograph him all day I think.
On one of my walks recently I noticed that the wood ants are active again. I find them fascinating and as I had my little compact with me and as it records video I thought I'd place it on the nest to film them. I could watch them for hours as they are so busy. I got a couple of nips when I retrieved the camera and, as you can hear, we were on the Gatwick flight path that day...Listen carefully and you might hear their footsteps as they cross the microphone.....
In north Devon there are some superbly situated glens. A couple of such examples come together at the aptly named location of Watersmeet. From here on the larger stream works its way to the sea at Lynmouth. The property in view is a National Trust centre and offered what looked like superb cream teas. Maybe another day...

My friend Traci with her horse who she rescued from an abusive environment where the previous owners would break bottles over the horse's head. Truly unacceptable. He had a lot of problems with his ears being touched, but she worked with him every day in order to try and get him more comfortable and to teach him to trust again. Trust in Dreams
. The background is made with my spray paint technique featured in my Somerset Work Shop article I did this fall. The work is created on cardstock and mounted on cigar box lid. The altered medical book image, a colorful bird, text from a Kahil Gibran poem and found objects such as a tiny key, rusty cog and a tiny light bulb with a secret message inside .. The size is 6.5 inches by 9 inches. It has a wire on the back for easy display, but could be used for a great journal cover!

The Bristol High Cross is a monumental market cross erected in 1373 in the centre of Bristol. It was built in Decorated Gothic style on the site of an earlier Anglo-Saxon cross, to commemorate the granting of a charter by Edward III to make Bristol a county, separate from Somerset and Gloucestershire. In 1764 it was moved to Stourhead , Wiltshire, a National Trust property.
