Duomo (cathedral) of Milan. Marble has been recently cleaned. Used the TrueHDR app to adjust the contrast on iPhone 4.

This 65-year old sycamore tree is the oldest tree in our neighborhood. When the city recently redid the curb, gutter, and sidewalks, they went around this living landmark.

REVIEW: The TrueHDR app (for the iPhone) only uses two exposures to blend and make the final and true HDR image (regular camera applications like Photomatix require at least three exposures -- adding a middle or neutral exposure). If you are curious, here are those two original exposures (see below) -- which are made by touching your finger* on a light area of the image (to capture the dark exposure), and then touching your finger on a dark area of the image (to capture the lighter exposure). I think it works quite well, don't you? Some fake HDR apps (like HDRforFree) take an existing image and fake it into an HDR image -- as if increasing the color saturation was the only criteria for "HDR". TrueHDR actually does dramatically increase your iPhone's dynamic range capability by blending two exposure! The app also does a good job of automatically aligning the two hand-held captures and trimming away the areas that don't match up.

*Currently, only the iPhone 3GS can adjust focus or exposure by touching the screen.

dailyshoot.com #ds187 Fire hydrants come in many colors and forms. Make a dramatic portrait of your local fire hydrant.

Saw this one walking back to the office after lunch with a friend. I had taken photos of the tower from this spot (albeit higher off the ground) before so when I saw the fire hydrant inspiration hit. Inverted the iPhone to get low to the ground and used TrueHDR followed by a little work in Best Camera on the iPhone before uploading it.

Kona weather this morning gave us some interesting cloud patterns at sunrise during my morning run around the Capitol district. It's the the festive winter holiday shopping season so the red/green light globes are up, and the "Season's Greetings" sign is visible across the street. drocpsu2: Great shot! Nice use of the blend and slow shutter. It's awesome to see the things that can be done with a phone.

Day 50 - Feb 19th: Window to the world

One thing I like about flying is fascination about watching the landscape underneath pass by. It is one thing I never get tired of and you always find me on a window seat. This is also the reason I made my own pilots licence a couple years ago. Aboard a Swiss Air Lines Avrojet during the approach to Zurich Airport on an early morning flight from Nuremberg.

@dailyshoot: Make a photo of a door you pass through today

#ds16

Long day today. This is all that's left: a tired plate of dried spaghetti sauce and a messy kitchen.

iPhone apps used: Camera+ (control over exposure point and focal point, took two photos, one dark, one light), TrueHDR (merged the dark and light photo), Perfect Photo (color balance, denoising, levels), Tiffen Photo fx (vignette), TiltShiftGen (further depth of field/miniaturizing focus, more vignetting), and back to Camera+ for a little grunge effect, then uploading to Flickr.

I know, complicated, huh?

2011-03-05: Updated. I couldn't resist, I re-edited this photo is Paint Shop Photo Pro and re-uploaded. Turns out that even though the camera-phone apps *can* edit, doesn't mean they edit *well*.

Located on the historic Molly Pitcher Highway, US Route 11, the Modern Home Appliance store is housed in a beautiful vintage building in Chambersburg, Pa. They were founded in 1937. Usually, they don't have their sign illuminated. Last night at twilight it was. I caught this on my iPhone with the app TrueHDR during the blue hour.

Today we've spent most of the day travelling from PiteƄ to Kramfors about 6 hours in total. Just finished todays gig in Kramfors and it was another good one!

My ankle has been painful again today which has meant that I haven't really been able to get around very easily. I managed to get a photo though, so that's good.

Daily App Experiment #198: "Behind The Green Door" - shot with #TrueHDR then I created mutliple copies in different hues using #photowizard. I then used #interlacer to mash up all the alternate versions. Then I used #Juxtaposer to replace re sign from the original version over the interlaced version. For the final step, I used #swankolabs to add a final filter over the entire image, which helped pull it back together into a singular piece. #appsperiment #daily_appsperiment

Daily App Experiment #313 "Stay Calm and Clarion" - another shot of @hellarob for our mini-Instawalk on Sunday. Since its #decim8nday, I ran this through #decim8 and then merged the original and new images together in #truehdr. To take it a little further, added a shallow focal point on the foreground and some of the glitches using #biglens. #appsperiment #daily_appsperiment

Putting aside for the moment that doing HDR on an iPhone is an insane idea, this picture isn't totally crap, just mostly.

Made with TrueHDR iPhone app.

I haven't figured out yet if it's really doing HDR or just blending the exposures.

i have shot this abandoned cafe so many times and never produced an image that i actually liked, until today! with handheld 3-exposure hdr. hope you guys like it too!

Shot is tittled "YOKO" because of the Japanese feel of the image. The pic consists of 2 images overlaid using another great app "TrueHDR" . The Shot was taken with an iPhone4. The "sketch" look dates the image & adds the fantasy element. Gorgeous model is my niece Kezy. xoxo CJT
