(59/365) Taken during my daily dog walk around a local field. Despite the dull day I quite liked the reflections in the water. Note there are no cattle in the field at this time of year HFF!

All the water troughs were part of the fence so that stock on both sides of the fence could get at the water. Taken on Mulyungarie Station in the far north east of South Australia.

Water Trough

Water Trough, Derbyshire.

Just a few miles from Dunbar in East Lothian in Scotland is a memorial drinking fountain and horse trough commissioned by Richard Hunter of Thurston to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887. It is at the roadside heading west from Innerwick village to Thurston House, and is now sadly neglected and almost covered in foliage. I was much taken by the words on the memorial, which remind us how very vital horses were to our economy and way of life back in Victorian times.

I should like to thank iIminotauro and Lorenzo Pasqualis, for being so kind as to write testimonials for me, I find this very touching and once more thank you Simone and Lorenzo, for your kindness.

I have not been able to go out with the camera this week, so here is another from a couple weeks ago, typical Leicester-shire countryside, overcast and dull, some feeding troughs for sheep, which can be seen in the background.
