Two bare SB-24's on 1/1, triggered by PocketWizard MiniTT1, combination of multiple exposures. The motionblur was created by using a rig, the exposures with flash were blended in afterwards.
This way the car is lit more evenly and the exposures without movement give the car much more sharpness.

I had an hour this morning on my way to show the new camera off at Samy's Camera in LA. So, a trip to the studio was in order.
I had arranged to meet a model at the studio. But that didn't work, so plan "B"! I had this peacock feather laying around and with an addition of an over sized drop of water...
The lighting was left over from the shot with my dog, Oliver. I killed the rim light and went with the single flash in the Orb.
The ISO was pushed up to 400 ISO so that the flashes were more efficient at the ƒ/18 setting. ƒ/18 was selected for the added depth of field I wanted when working this close and handheld.

Cat's first reaction to a Westcott Rapid Box. She loves her picture taken, but had never seen my Octabox before.

Dragon Age: Inquisition - Downsampled from ~20 MP, hotsampling! using SRWE; HattiWatti's Cinematic Tools, fog edit, freecam, and hide HUD; timestop; IDK's AR Unlocker for cutscenes and CT for henchmen coordinates; my own ReShade config (also available on Nexus)
Lighting setup: Snooted 430EX to the right (between 50cm-1m) and I used a white canvas propped up to the left (50cm) to bounce some of the flash back. Flash power was of 1/1 with a max zoom of 105mm. The home-made grid snoot is of 4cm deep.
The background is my black fleece, put about 30cm away to avoid any light spills.

STROBIST : this one was taken with one off camera speedlight YN560 II , triggered with a cactus v5, on a light stand, with a umbrella Photek softlighter II (my favorite!)
This pictures was an experimentation with mixed media, such as photography, drawing, painting, and of course all put together in Photoshop. It's about looking for your identity, and hiding behind a complex personnality. I love the idea of the eye watching us but not allowing us to see the face.
I have left my flickr account for too long and I am more than happy to be back there to share with you my new creation rom this full year :)
I've got plenty of projects going on, and as many of you know it can be hard to keep in touch with the creative side of photography. I openned my portrait studio which took me 300% of my time, but I am back on the creative ride and ready to share a new page of this book with you :)

Nps.gov: Crater Lake inspires awe. Native Americans witnessed its formation 7,700 years ago, when a violent eruption triggered the collapse of a tall peak. Scientists marvel at its purity—fed by rain and snow, it’s the deepest lake in the USA and one of the most pristine on Earth. Artists, photographers, and sightseers gaze in wonder at its blue water and stunning setting atop the Cascade Mountain Range.
The 33-mile historic Rim Drive circumnavigates the lake and is open during summer and early fall (depending on weather and road conditions). Along the drive are 30 overlooks that were designed between 1931 and 1938 to highlight a specific view of the lake, a significant geologic formation in the caldera, or an environmental feature such as a subalpine meadow. Some of these stops have exhibits with information about the view. Other viewpoints leave room for visitor curiosity and discovery.
Where you choose to stop for a view of the lake or to capture the surrounding landscape of the park is a personal preference. Most of these pullouts do not have signs that offer a name or location. The park map indicates major stops that help with orientation. On average, visitors take two hours to complete the drive with eight or more stops.

Quick test for CLS & DIY bokeh. Compared 24-70/F2.8, 35mm/F2 & 85mm/F1.4 to see how they work with capturing small backlit items using big apertures. 35mm/F2 is fantastic prime as it has so close focusing distance. Almost like poor man's macro lens :)
Setup: SB-800 with shoot through umbrella cam left. SB-600 & stofen behind paper. CLS for triggering. 35mm/F2 @ F2.2

55 images Stacked in Helicon
I really wanted to control and focus the light. To that end, I used three of the MagMod grids. This allowed me to get the light to 'skip' across the feather without filling in the shadows that I thought added so much to the image.
In order to achieve the depth of focus I wanted, I used the Focus Shift Shooting option in the Z7II. (for further explanation of what I'm talking about, please see the very next image in my photo stream: 182 Strawberries Stacked.) FSS helped me create 55 images that were later stacked together... using only the sharpest parts of each image... into the final product. I used the default setting in the Helicon software to create the TIF file that was brought into PhotoShop Elements for resizing for post.
Within the FSS menu there is an option for delay between shots. For the 182 Strawberries Stacked, I used a 5 second delay. It wasn't enough. I overheated the batteries and they started to falter about 2/3 of the way into the stack capture. For this, I moved the delay to 10 seconds. Much better. The delay allowed the flash to fully recharge and cool down bit between each shot.
Strangely... this is a full color image.
