The title came to me in a dream. As I was waking this morning from my dream Julie (in the dream) was commenting on something that a character in the dream had asked her. Julie's response was, "It's a Trigger Capsule". Weird. Luckily I wrote it down as I awoke.

Falling water drop from a tap a feww mm above the water in a bowl with the visible impact of the drop before. Shoot this with the camera in my hand and not used a tripod or a drop machine with trigger etc ..

Two bare SB-24's on 1/1, triggered by PocketWizard MiniTT1, combination of multiple exposures. The motionblur was created by using a rig, the exposures with flash were blended in afterwards.
This way the car is lit more evenly and the exposures without movement give the car much more sharpness.

This was the absolute last shot of the night, and 2SiiCK's first official wedding shoot. I must take my hat off to ALL the amazing wedding photographers, this stuff is not easy!
Steve and I, had the pleasure to shoot this wedding this past Saturday, at The Prado in Balboa Park. It was my first time as a lead shooter, as I had shot a few as a 2nd before. We had a blast and the wedding was super cool. The band was amazing and everyone had a great time! At the very end of the night as everyone was getting on the buses to take them back to their hotel, the newlyweds were finally alone for the first time. It was quiet, and Steven and I had our cameras in our bags walking back to the car. We turned and saw the bride and groom running out of the reception hall. He turned to me and asked if I still had my camera out, and I said "in a second I will". He wanted a shot alone with his wife, Steven grabbed a flash and I grabbed my camera. I was hoping I could get a good shot, but only had time to take 3 shots, so I was not expecting much. They posed for the first shot, and it was ok, but I did not want a posed moment. So after the 2nd shot we told them we got it and they turned and said something to each other. I told Steven to hold up the flash again, and I said her name right as he kissed her, she turned and smiled, and we got the shot.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. John and Anne Nolie.

During 2022, Putin pulled the trigger on an invasion of Ukraine. Earlier his navy had taken the entire navy of Ukraine and Crimea, which they previously shared. When a Russian warship threatened an island held by only 13 Ukranians, they responded with "Russian warship... go fuck yourself!" Putin assumed he would have an easy war, probably believing his own propaganda and lack of resolve in the West to directly confront a nuclear power. The West responded by massive company boycotts, hacking multiple Russian businnesses and even the military. Hopefully we do not see nuclear war. I stand with Ukraine, fuck Putin.

Got down to Dungeness again yesterday evening in the hope of a thunderstorm, no such luck and the light a bit flat and awful. Walking around (as you do) I came across this Fishermans hut and thought it worth sharing with you.
Camera setup. Stole my son’s 60D and popped it on a tripod (canon still not replaced the 1Dx) manually exposed to get the sky correct. 2 x 600-RTs remotely triggered to fill, hand held one each side by myself and my pal Rod and that’s it really.

'Scepter'd Isle,' English Rose - bred by David Austin
I find roses difficult to photograph in an original way. I tried to make this version interesting without the usual sentimental overtones that can be difficult to escape in a colored rose picture. The tinted black and white adds a different mood and helps to emphasize the rounded 'bowl' form of Septer'dlsle (a pink Old World style rose with a bright yellow center).
I am including the rose picture, "Septer'dIsle," in an upcoming exhibition that includes other toned monochrome floral pictures. These pictures will be displayed at the Newton Cultural Centre in March 2016 with an opening reception March 12th from 1-3pm. The floral images have an archival and distancing quality despite being close-up pictures. This comes from an emotional response that triggers memory and references the past. These floral pictures draw on the traditions and visual language of vintage black and white photography using contemporary digital processing that is reminiscent of hand tinting. The process of gently tinting photographs with a digital brush is subjective, individual and unique to each photograph.

ROCK CREEK, British Columbia - In 1859, gold was discovered in the Kettle River. This triggered a stampede to the very place where the Rock Creek meets the Kettle River in the southwest corner of Boundary Country. Bolstered by golden dreams and heartened by tales of riches, thousands of miners descended on this quiet spot. They created a rollicking frontier town. The Kettle Valley Rail Trail, part of Canada’s iconic Trans Canada Trail, runs straight through Rock Creek.
ROCK CREEK is in the Boundary Country region of south central British Columbia. The unincorporated settlement is mostly on the southwest side of the Kettle River at the confluence with Rock Creek. The place lies at the junction of BC Highway 33 about 84 miles south of Kelowna, about 20 miles west of Greenwood and 32 miles east of Osoyoos.

John A. Bruce & Company - The Seed Warehouse of this firm, one of the largest and best equipped in Canada, was situated in Hamilton on the corner of King and McNab Streets, had a frontage of 30 feet on the former and 130 feet on the latter, occupying 7 plots. The business was established by John A. Bruce in 1850, and in 1861 his brother, F. C. Bruce, became partner. They popularized soybeans in Canada and beyond. Brothers John and Frank Bruce had supplied a Canadian market for quality seeds of all kinds since 1850. By the time John A. Bruce and Company first offered soybean seed for sale, it had an established reputation for introducing new and improved varieties of field crop, vegetable and flower seeds, tools, and ideas to farmers and gardeners throughout the Dominion of Canada. Their exhibit mounted by the Bruce Company at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893 was awarded the World’s Fair Medal and a diploma “for the superior quality of our exhibit of Oats, Peas, Rye, Millet and Timothy Seeds.” While the Bruce Company maintained a seed farm and trial grounds on Main Street East, Hamilton, in addition to its offices and warehouse at the corner of King and McNab Streets, many seeds sold by them in Canada were imported from Britain, France, California, and a few from Holland and Denmark. In North America, more seed and nursery companies came into being during the 2nd half of the 19C, especially after the US Civil War. Mail-order became much more common due to improved transportation networks and US postal reforms in the 1860s that made it cheaper to ship seeds and plant material, as well as catalog. Mail-order companies increased the size and number, often including colorful art, of catalogs they produced, and most catalogs were shipped to customers free upon request. As more business was done by mail, catalogs contained more detailed ordering and shipping instructions. John A. Photo of a balloon being popped with a needle. (My lovely wife is doing the messy work of the popping). This is the one--and so far only--shot we took. The resulting dust cloud settled everywhere.

Walking around the streets of Paris, you will encounter a strong security presence in the form of roving tactical patrols with heavy weaponry. I saw this patrol coming and held my camera a waist level and shot a series as they walked by. Serious looking group!

I colored my hair today, WOW, its so much darker, its almost BLACK. I'm hoping it will lighten up a bit. I put make up on and got my new gigantic Octobox set up and my backdrop and gel and everything, but alas, no new lens to go with my new Octobox and new hair color! (totally going to change my buddy icon to this, so look for my new buddy icon)
** Disclaimer ** I was not born with these beautiful eyelashes. Probably at birth my Mom said something like "she's not done yet, she's got no eyelashes, she needs to bake some more!" Free Photoshop paintbrushes and boom I have eyelashes!
Update on my new lens: its 6:45pm and the UPS guy has not shown up with my new lens that the tracking says is out for delivery :( ... ta-da now its 7:26pm and UPS just dropped it off!
