The only thing better than landing your personal best yellow margin trigger? Making Moana pose for the hero shot. Note the slight shit eating grin.

Novus is a small, isolationist island nation with very few dealing with the outside world. Consequentially, it is not a very wealthy country. However, it is extremely territorial and allows almost no outsiders inside and severely restricts international travel for its own citizens. This has lead to a very secretive, xenophobic foreign policy, which is reflected in their Aerial Police Force. The entire Novulan Navy is composed of only one ship type, the Trigger class. The designer of this airship is unknown, as is the true number of them built.
The Trigger class is built around a Heavy Railgun, which gives these small ships a huge advantage in firepower over other ships in their weight class. The Trigger is also very fast and nimble, however its engines cannot power both the propellers and the railgun at the same time. Additionally, the secondary weaponry of this ship is extremely lacking. With only three light cannons and six float mine launchers, this ship is not as well-armed as most military ships, excluding its main armament. Its armor is slightly above average for a destroyer, mostly around its railgun mountings to reduce chances of a critical hit.
The entire purpose of these ships is simply to make it unprofitable for outside nations to launch an attack on Novus, while also keeping a tight grip on air travel in and especially out of the island. Swarms of these ships could theoretically be defeated by an enemy fleet, but their railguns would cause so much damage that the effort would hardly be worth it to rule over such a poor nation. Secondly, the cheapness of these ships mean many can patrol Novulan airspace and intercept ships and be able to destroy them quickly.
With the Trigger-class, Novus has secured its borders, but its people grow restless and frustrated of their poverty and oppression. Many believe an uprising is inevitable, with the only real question beingwhich side foreign powers would support.

My wife and sister spent the afternoon affixing succulents to the tops of pumpkins. When they were done with their garden/craft project, they asked me to help document the results for them.
Strobist info: I set the pumpkin on a stool, on top of a black cloth. I also used another black cloth as a back drop to catch any light that spilled over. The main lighting was done with two Strobie 130's is softboxes, camera left at 7 o'clock and camera right at 4 o'clock. I also used a hand held SB600 in back and below the pumpkin to provide a little rim lighting. The strobes were in manual mode and were triggered by Tiny Triggers from scottrobertstudio.com.
Other plants and flowers that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. In the description for that set, I list resources that I've used to learn how to light with off camera flash. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157628079460544/...
Lasioglossum (Parasphecodes) on a Trigger Plant (Stylidium graminifolium). It has been a hope of mine to catch a pollinator on one of these plants so I was thrilled to see this bee activating the flowers and getting dusted in pollen! In this photo you can see the flower column on the back of the bee. From ANSPA: “They are known as “trigger plants” because of the unique, irritable flower column which is triggered by insect visitors. The trigger remains cocked until an insect probes the flower and then springs upwards and deposits pollen on the head or back of the insect which then transfers the pollen to another flower”.
I don't know what went wrong with my trigger finger on this one; I had my Pentax Spotmatic by this time, so the timing was mine and not the camera's. Maybe a little nervousness on my part. There is some rapid fire rattling happening here as an Erie Lackawanna eastbound freight, headed by SD45, two F7b, U33c (3633…3310), rushes by the crossing flagman while it leaves the shared double track with C&O in the background and heads out - finally - on home rails for the East. Almost directly underneath the gentleman with the stop sign is the Penn Central - ex-NYC - branch from Gary to Joliet. I don't think I ever saw a train on it in all my visits. I'm standing almost on the double track Grand Trunk Western, which two diamonds will feel those wheels in a split second. Immediately thereafter will come the double track Elgin Joliet and Eastern. Finally, a single diamond with C&O's interchange to the "J" will be crossed, before more switches to EL's crossovers, siding switches and yard tracks leading to EL's own interchange with the "J". They didn't slow down that much…maybe 40mph, but it looked - and sounded - impressive.
Daisy, just back from doing a little grocery shopping for me after work yesterday. Yeah, I could have done it myself during the day, but what fun would that have been? 😉
So what is she fussing about here? Crowded store? Crazy drivers on the road? 🤔
Nope. She's mad because I inadvertently left a couple of items off of her list, and now I'm sending her back for them.
Hey, don't blame me, young lady! I'm just a well-meaning elderly lady with a bad memory....I can't be held responsible! 😝

On a trip to the Singapore Botanical garden, I found this kid. He was visiting with his grand parents, and was trying to feed the ducks in the lake.
He was so cute and sweet, and each time the duck would grab a piece of his bread, he was overjoyed. His day was made. It triggered my own memories of childhood, where we would feed the monkeys in the streets and feel the same way.
Its funny to think how such simple things are actually enough to bring us a feeling of elation. While as we are grown up, despite having the best of things in life, we still are not finding joy. Where does this feeling of joy disappear when we age? How do we lose it?
Should not our innocence be safe guarded?

Part of the Peas Project
www.flickr.com/photos/jimfrazier/sets/72157621916521505
Technical: I have set a personal best record for Photoshopping on this one. Almost all elements (peas, "torches", signs) were made with an AB400 in socked beauty dish at camera right triggered with pocketwizard. I shot everything from the exact same camera position and lighting so that they would all "seamlessly" mesh in the picture. Unfortunately, peas were destroyed in the making of this image.

I remain silent much to Jason’s annoyance. He pulls the trigger but his aim fails him. It always was one of his weakest areas. This gives me all the time I need. I reach into my belt and drop a smoke pellet down. It does little more than act as distraction but it’s enough to force Jason to empty his gun of some additional bullets as he desperately tries to hit me in his blindness. I take this moment to escape into the shadows of the cave. Jason won’t know this but not too long ago I had supporting rafters installed into the caves roof. It’s been my greatest fear that one day someone would learn of Bruce Wayne’s identity as the Batman and they would assault the cave. It’s taken me years but I finally have those necessary fail safes in place. With the rafters at my disposal I have the edge.
The perks of home field advantage. That’s why I chose the cave over Arkham for hiding the Joker. I know Arkham like the back of my hand, but the cave gives me all the advantages I could need.
“Ohhhh Bruce. You brought him here, didn’t you? You brought the clown here? After everything he’s done, and after everything I’VE done, HE’S the one you save, and I’m the one you’re trying to take down.”
I want to try and talk to Jason, try to open his eyes but I know that will only serve to compromise my position. Jason scans the roof attempting to spot me, but he won’t and he knows that.
“Well…looks like I’m just going to have to destroy everything you own on top of the imposter and your dead butler.”
He reaches into his pouches and pulls out a grenade. He’s a walking armory it seems. He proceeds to assault various aspects of the cave by detonating a grenade next to them. First he takes down one of the support pillars as well as destroying most of the batcomputer. The damage looks far worse than what it actually will be. The hard drive is built into the cave wall to protect it from such damage. The worst damage will be the damage done to the screen and the interface controls but those can be easily replaced.
“Bruce I’ll destroy every single last thing you’ve put the prefix of ‘bat’ in front of until you come out! Just come out now and face me like a man. Alfred and the imposter are dead. Now…it’s time for us to join them. You, me, and the clown.”
He wants me to assault him. That’s what this all centers around. He can’t shoot me if he can’t see me and it’s driving him mad. His next target is the batmobile, but he checks for me again before he prepares to destroy the car he always dreamt of riding in when I first took him on. How times change. I feel tempted to activate the batmobiles emergency defence systems. One blast from a riot round would be sufficient to incapacitate him, but there’s just too much risk for a blast at such close range.
He destroys the batmobile without a second thought and it breaks my heart to see him do such a thing. What has Ra’s done to you Jason.
After the batmobile he turns his attention the display case. No. He wouldn’t. Not that.
That’s what I told myself.
He unloads the remainder of his bullets into the display case and rips the suit apart. No. No more.
This has gone on enough.
He’s taken Alfred.
He’s taken Tim.
And even with all that he wants more.
It’s all clear to me now.
This monster stood in the cave may look like Jason.
But he’s not Jason.
Jason died that night five years ago.
This monster stood in the cave is just a creation of hatred from the mind of a twisted clown and the leader of a league of killers.
This ends now.
I leave my perch and strike from the shadows.
“NO MORE!”
I punch him straight in his head and smash the Red Hood helmet with my strike. The helmet fragments and shards of it cut his face.
“That's enough Jason.”
“You’re right, that is enough. Tonight’s the end for us Bruce. Both of us. But I’m going down swinging.”
He swings for me wildly hoping to harm me, but it’s to no avail. I dodge and deliver another blow, this time his jaw. That should guarantee his silence from now on. The punch does it’s primary purpose of delivering him great pain, but not in silencing him
He rises from the ground and charges straight at me knocking us both over the ledge down to the docking bay in front of the burning remains of the Batmobile.
This ends tonight you monster. You won’t dishonor my son any longer…
