Today I went to a conservatory in Providence, RI . . .

Funny thing is that I was most attracted to the *tree* trunks,

but look what photo I liked the best!

Who *wooda* thunk about the trunk?

In March I had an opportunity to visit my sister in Victoria, Texas. While visiting we toured many areas where I was able to get a photo shoot in. On this day we stayed in Victoria and traveled to the outskirts where this lazy river was flowing. Right on that river bank was a bar and grill where we relaxed with a Martini and shrimp. Such a nice view from their outdoor deck! Some of the views are abstract with many reflections. I will be uploading each place separately as I get them ready to view. This is a B&W photo taken through the distorting optics of rain rivulets on the window of my car that reveals a rather dark and terrifying pareidolia portrait of a psychotically enraged tree.

A detail of a tree trunk found 'Into the wood' for Macro Mondays.

I often walk this trail from my house and into a local park. This particular section is very dark and as the skies haven't cleared yet from the rainy day, it is more dark and wet than usual.

Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!

I saw this little This Eastern chipmunk (Tamias striatus) at the end of its tree trunk burrow at the Springfield Nature Center. After a bit of contemplation, it decided I wasn't a threat and scampered across the trail and into the leaf litter. I didn't seem many birds but played hide and seek with two different chipmunks.

The white lichen is Physcia stellaris, widespread on trunks. The yellow lichen is Xanthoria parietina, a foliose, or leafy, lichen. It has wide distribution, and many common names such as common orange lichen, yellow scale, maritime sunburst lichen and shore lichen. It can be found near the shore on rocks or walls, and also on inland rocks, walls, or tree bark.

This morning I took my crocheted pumpkins for a walk to the park!

Autumn is in the air.

Wherever I am, I seek the element of light, however small, however generous.

Against this trunk in the shade, a shaft of light illuminated these small branches and young leaves, bringing them to my attention. Every time I experience the light, I feel extremely grateful.

This is the second day I have seen this owl, one of a pair of them. I have been too busy to download my camera pics so here is this taken today with my iPhone SE

"The Eastern Screech-Owl is a short, stocky bird, with a large head and almost no neck. Its wings are rounded; its tail is short and square. Pointed ear tufts are often raised, lending its head a distinctive silhouette.

Eastern Screech-Owls can be either mostly gray or mostly reddish-brown (rufous). Whatever the overall color, they are patterned with complex bands and spots that give the bird excellent camouflage against tree bark. Eyes are yellow.

Eastern Screech-Owls are active at night and are far more often heard than seen—most bird watchers know this species only from its trilling or whinnying song. However, this cavity-roosting owl can be attracted to nest boxes or, if you’re sharp-eyed, spotted in daylight at the entrance to its home in a tree cavity."

The Jardines de Alameda Apodaca is an absolutely beautiful and well maintained park on the north side of Cadiz. It has numerous fountains, sculptures and a variety of flowers and plants including two giant ficus trees that came from Cuba. While sitting in the shade, you'll also get great views of the Bay of Cádiz and Atlantic Ocean.
