Yesterday there were perfect circumstances for this kind of photography. Overcast and no wind. These are 6 shots of one tree, made with the help of a tripod and blended in my Canon R6. Have a wonderful creative weekend!
This is a photograph of the green lush grass as it grew back after the Meridian fire in Grayling MI. The color of the fresh green grass against the burnt out landscapes was a pleasant site. Some HDR filtering added to help bring out the green color we enjoyed seeing the day I took this.
Enjoying the last leaves. This one I took in the south of Germany. I loved the way the trees filled the image.
It's always the ones with the dirty hands pointing the fingers.

To stand out above the crowd
Even if I gotta shout out loud
Till mine is the only face you see
Gonna stand out till you notice me

Multipleexposure exposure of this wonderful tree I found. It represents life and new beginnings for me. I photographed the birds last year in Den Oever, the Netherlands. The birds were added afterwards in Photoshop in two extra layers.
During a walk in the forest, I heard a soft smacking sound. When I turned the corner, I saw this forest creature that had stuffed its mouth too full. When it saw me, it quickly and quietly disappeared.
Wonderful soft colors and contrasts found new Leavenworth, WA. Want to shoot scenes like these with me next year? My Leavenworth workshops for 2020 are already half full. www.aaronreedphotography.com/product/aaron-reed-nature-ph...
I felt well enough to walk today, even in 91 degree heat, and seeing this was a heckuva surprise.
3.3 miles
193.33 miles this year
The detail and beauty of kauri bark caught my eye recently.
Kauri tree species are within genus Agathis and native to Australasia and Southeast Asia.
Agathis is one of three extant genera in the family Araucariaceae, alongside Wollemia and Araucaria.
Evergreen and coniferous.
Growing to 50 m or more.

The Life
The life of a tree
starts with a seeds
sudden fall.
Stranded in unfamiliar places,
growing through the opposition,
strong and tall.
Leafing out,
budding branch's,
winds that blow
through it all.
Children swinging from a branch,
lovers tattoo's in the bark,
winter's chill,
its growth dose stall.
The life of a tree
empresses us all.
From birth till death
it takes on each obstacle,
strengthens and grows
but not dose it fall.
Producing and giving
for more years than
I can recall,
The Life,
The Life
The life of a tree
impresses us all.
I played with an image of a tree I took earlier this year... put two different textures on it... not a masterpiece, but fun to do.
☀️Please let this be the thing you read today.☀️
For the first time in 11.5 years of creating imagery, I'm doing my first OPEN EDITION print sale. All profits go to National Angels, an organization dedicated to providing resources to foster kids and foster families. Prints are $45 USD each, and WHCC has given their support so that more money can go to this cause. Please share this widely and, if you need a reason, here are some reasons to buy one:
👉 Buy it to honor yourself as a strong pillar in someone's life.
👉 Buy it to honor a strong parental figure (mother, father, aunt, uncle, cousin, sister, brother, friend...someone who lifts you up).
👉 Buy it for your own child as a reminder of strength.
👉 Buy it to support kids in foster care, like my foster son, Jude.
👉 Share it to spread awareness about foster care - there are a terrible amount of kids in care with nowhere safe to go.
👉 The sale will only be open for 3 DAYS.
👉 It will be a very, very, very long time before I do something like this again.

I said goodbye to my foster son 11 days ago. As I huddled, sobbing when he drove away down the street for the last time, I felt great loss and great strength of conviction. I am a foster mother because I am prepared to take on the pain that I don't want children to feel. It hurts so much to lose him - he is everywhere - but I am stronger knowing that I gave him a new life.
Strong as a foster mother. What I learned in my 8 months of motherhood is that I am a pillar, a foundation, the strength of a hundred branches reaching out to steady, and the falling leaves, too, of being able to handle loss with grace. I am everything I need to be. I'm willing to bet you are, too.
Purchase this 10x10 inch fine art print and all profits go to aid kids in foster care.
You and me and
the butterfly's 3,
changing and
mutating in the tree.
Is it a princess
or is it a queen?,
waiting for the
metamorphosis
so we can see.
Colorful, fancy,
beauty inside,
changing the outside
and becoming free.
No longer trapped
in the earthly cocoon,
it spreads its wings
and fly's where
it can see.
Singing a colorful song
on the way and humming
quietly to thee.
The Butterfly's three.
In the warm spring sun the seeds begin to sprout.
The colors of spring begin to reach out.
Gone is the cold and the blanket of snow.
Warm is the sun as the little sprouts grow.
Looking deeply at the seedlings base, I see no signs of drought.
If its healthy and strong then leaves it soon will tout
Photograph of tree seedlings in the spring thaw beginning their growth cycle.
Mirrored and HDR filter applied.

A beautiful and colorful abstract modern art painting (acrylic on canvas) by my daughter, Nikki Menner.
Do Knot smile,
no matter
what you do,
seems to be
the mantra
of the ones
who spread
dark and gloom
and dread.
This little Knot
knows the secret,
to living in a
cruel place.
It's branch's gone
and its tree trunk too.
Cut down out of spite,
yet still it is smiling
back at me with all
its might.
This little forget me
not may not be a
flower but its still
here, filled with life's
smiling power.
The heart of the tree
in its roots dose rest.
where new growth
grows best.
Photograph of the roots and knots of a cut
down tree trying to grow back.
The tree in my back yard
on dark and stormy days
Becomes a life like creature
that peers out all gloomy and grey.
The water drips down
the thick recesses of the bark,
in well sought out paths,
eerily calling forth the beings
from within the tree.
Water, life giving water
falling from the sky
awakens my senses
and opens my eyes
to see.
The living souls all around us
the ones we do not see.
Other dimensions and places in time.
Uniquely linked and networked
in worlds unknown.
What we think we see,
we do not know
and what we think we know,
we do not see,
for blind are we to other lives
seeing not but our own.
