It's been a really long time since I've uploaded anything, I'm trying to get caught up.
This is from Thanksgiving 2010
Long- Lived tree, native to australia. Can reach ages exceeding 2,000 years. Nicknamed the "huon pine", though it is not a pine at all, but a podocarp.
All the leaves are gone now from the old tree. It's been a cold week, but the meteorologist is promising warmer weather (from Africa), next week.

Saw this very smart tree creeper near Chafi, and man!!! it was lot of fun watching it go up the pines and fly to the tree after reaching the pinnacle.
Please bear with me for posting a Christmas-y photo on New Year's Eve! I've been so busy this season that this is the first chance I've had to photograph the tree! We'll be taking it down tomorrow, but for tonight we've got just a little more sparkle.
Wishing you a happy, healthy New Year!

This great tree has been a bit of an obsession for me to try and do justice to. I have returned here many times now and come away with nothing I felt happy with.
I was passing by it after taking the image of my neighbour sitting on the bench in the loch and noticed the the light was good and there was a light covering of snow all adding to the soft light and mood.
I left him warming up in the van and grabbed a couple of shots.
Hope you like the image and please critique or comment if you have time as I greatly appreciate feed back

Oak Trees. One of my favorite spots in the Allegan Forest. I've shot this scene in color, B&W, infrared B&W, in digital, 35mm film, and 120mm film. This digital IR shots really captures the mood of the place... Pentax *ist-d with hoya RM90 filter.
Nothing wildly creative or cool -- simply an expression of my love for the cyclic forces of nature. This is just a stand of trees in our Maine backyard after an ice storm. Natural, normal, frozen in time -- and for me...breathtaking. OH -- and very cold!!!
