Over the past decade Nassau has become a whole new world. With the tourism boom and money flowing in from foreign investors, hotels and casinos are being built at an unprecedented rate on the island. The tour buses and guides all bring their clients to “The Cave” to explore. This adventure is little more than a 5 minute exercise in walking into a 30’ deep hole in the side of a hill! The exciting thing however is the smoothie stand just in front of this attraction! For a couple of bucks you can enjoy the freshest of banana, coconut, apples, and pineapple blended to perfection…with or without booze! Over the years the owner has collected trinkets, license plates, etc. as decoration for his Tourist Trap!

I spent some time at work with famed conservationist Rodney Jackson this week, who uses trap photography to track and document snow leopards in the Himalayas. We played with his trail cameras a bit -- not to capture anything as cool as snow leopards -- but we did find some interesting overnight visitors on property.
I may have to get one of these and play with it some more!

I spent some time at work with famed conservationist Rodney Jackson this week, who uses trap photography to track and document snow leopards in the Himalayas. We played with his trail cameras a bit -- not to capture anything as cool as snow leopards -- but we did find some interesting overnight visitors on property.
I may have to get one of these and play with it some more!

An old lobster trap, washed up on the beach below the Sea Sand and Stars cottage.
The beach is accessible by a short (50 meter) trail leading from the backyard of the cottage.

A clever little contraption, possibly to collect snails, possibly small fish. The point is you take whatever turns up in the trap and put it in a big steaming pot and enjoy.

I feel secluded, my thoughts feel polluted.
So I escape to music 'cuz I think it's therapuetic, and,
this whole world can hate or love me, or think i'm ugly,
'cuz unlike my friends these walls wont judge me.
These walls wont betray me, these walls are like my safety.
But sometimes I feel like these walls drive me crazy.
They enslave me or chase me by myself.
this is how i feel trapped inside
