The same balloon as before. This was right before it was about to lift off.
This balloon was so easy to photograph. I guess because it was so photogenic.
THE CHRIST CHILD EMBRACING ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA (DETAILS)
Icon-type santo painting
Oil on wood panel
19th century, Manila area
16 3/4 x 13 1/4 inches, including frame
Original untouched condition
This piece is likely the work of a trained unknown artist, and depicts a well-known story about St. Anthony when he was secluded in the Italian countryside.
As the saint meditated on his Psalter, the Christ Child appeared to him, embracing him in a sign of Divine Love. An astonished Conte Tiso, the nobleman who owned the hermitage where the event occurred, gazes through a half-open door, drawn to the light and raising his hand in wonder and awe.
Christ is joined by a host of angels and cherubs, two of which offer a rosary and lilies, the saint’s attribute.
Details of 19th century life are incorporated. The Babe’s translucent robe recalls piña fabric, while beside Tiso, who is garbed as a Spanish aristocrat, is a door knocker above an oval keyhole shield.

Taken in my woods, Etowah County, Alabama. UPDATE - A google search indicates the this may be Tremella fuciformis, also know as snow fungus, white jelly fungus, or silver ear fungus. It is apparently parasitic on other fungus and perhaps the orange one seen growing with it, is its host.
The contrast of lime green spots with the maroon petals is a beautiful combo. I found two of these in our woods yesterday evening, growing together.
actually they are narcissus, not daffodils! what I wanted was to capture the translucent qualities of the blooms.
This is not a photoshop effect nor is it an multi-exposed shot. It is a 1.3 sec shot of a dice when my son decided to flick it aside at the last moment. The result is a ghostly image with both the 5 and it's background captured by the long exposure. Cool eh :)
