I felt smoking hot in this little number. Now just need a baby of men in suits to light my cigarette, complement me on my gams and secretly want me. Ahh, the 1930’s…

I spent a lot of time trying to get the right mix between mesh bodies and mesh heads... who would of thought that in my 11 years in SL things would get harder and more complicated?

Now I think I have found PERFECTION thanks to a special friend.

This once derelict set of buildings has been recently transformed to become home to a number of exciting, creative businesses making and selling everything from quirky home accessories, to vintage and antique items, to boutique fashion, jewellery and music.

Cobden Chambers is located in the City Centre just off Pelham Street, in between the busy Market Square and the vibrant, bustling Hockley. The site consists of The Terraces - 10 individual units The Courtyard, and the soon to be completed Cobden Place.

The site has a fascinating and varied history. It was used as a photographer's studio in the 1800's and a base for the Nottingham Society of Artists between 1895 - 1912. In the 1970's it was it was the editing house for Platform, a monthly arts magazine for the Midlands and in the 1980's it was home to a horologist. It was even once the registered office for Notts County Football Club back in 1890!

Anoles are often called chameleons because they can change color from green to brown and vice versa. The color changes are caused by hormones and can be triggered by temperature, background color or mood. A hormone called intermedin secreted by the pituitary gland is responsible for these changes. Green anoles tend to remain green when temperatures are more than 70 degrees F., whereas they tend to remain brown during cool weather conditions.

The one I captured went from green to brown.

Kronborgs history goes back to the fortress Krogen, built by the Danish King Eric of Pomerania in 1420's. Along with the fortress Kärnan, Helsingborg on the opposite coast of Øresund, it controlled the entrance way in to the Baltic sea and it ensured that the bypassing ships paid customs. From 1574 to 1585 King Frederick II had the medieval fortress radically transformed into a magnificent Renaissance castle. In 1629 a fire destroyed most of the castle, but King Christian IV subsequently had it rebuilt. In 1658 Kronborg was besieged and captured by the Swedes who took many of its valuable art treasures as war booty. In 1785 the castle ceased to be a royal residence and was converted into barracks for the army. The army left the castle in 1923 and the surroundings of the castle in 1991. After a thorough renovation the castle opened to the public as a museum in 1938.

In 2000 Kronborg Castle was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

This ring (made by my extremely talented wife) consists of 8 individual rings which in normal use form a stack below the mount which carries the stone, through which you poke your finger. However, they are cunningly hinged together so that they can unfold from their normal position and transform into a bracelet (shown here partially deployed).

Art Gallery of Ontario's transformation is complete. The new extension to the building designed by Frank Gehry was unveiled yesterday.

Inside Paterson's Godown in Clarke Quay, Singapore. Now transformed into residential buildings.

This large godown was originally designed by the firm of Swan & Lermit for Messrs Paterson Simons & Co. in the early 1890s. It was an English trading company established in the 1820s. Paterson Simon & Co exported commodities such as gutta-percha, gambier, copra, tapioca, sago flour, hides and skins to Europe and America.

📍 Blast Beach is a striking stretch of coastline near Dawdon, just south of Seaham in County Durham. Once buried under millions of tonnes of colliery waste from nearby mines, it’s now a dramatic and rejuvenated landscape that’s part of the Durham Heritage Coast.

🌊 What makes it special?

It was famously used as a filming location for Alien 3 and The Last Kingdom, thanks to its eerie, otherworldly terrain.

The beach was transformed through the Turning the Tide project (1997–2002), which restored wildlife habitats and cleaned up decades of industrial pollution.

You’ll find limestone cliffs, red-tinged rock pools, and even a WWII pillbox tucked into the scenery.

🚶♂️ Getting there involves a short but steep walk from Nose’s Point, crossing remnants of old slag heaps—a reminder of its gritty past. But at the bottom, you’re rewarded with a wild, rugged coastline that feels like stepping into a post-apocalyptic movie set.

2023 calendar collage

As a conservative estimate, I've driven past this scene well over a thousand times in the last five years. It's one of those sights that's so ingrained in my routine that I stop seeing it.

I'm glad this morning's mist changed that.

I'm trying to piece myself back together as best I can.

I'm learning though, that things once broken are never quite whole.

You can never be what you were.

There will always be pieces missing, bits of yourself, of life, that you just can't get back.

There is no other option then, but to morph, and take on a new form.

Transformation is the key to healing.

Transforming is the key to living.

I was most surprised to walk into Charles Street yard one day, and find the place transformed - gone were all the old relics that had been in the top of the yard for years, and in their place was this line of of brand new stock. Of course, new vehicles were no surprise at Charles Street, as 90% of new deliveries went there first for inspection, but they were generally parked wherever space could be found for them. I'm not sure who they were trying to impress with this display, but it certainly didn't last long.

And yes, I do have the numbers of all 13 buses in the picture (plus one or two more off-camera), but you don't want to know them all, do you ?

If nothing changes, there'd be no butterflies.

Clear day has transformed into clear night as stars shine in the distant heavens, coloured by the colourful auroras. The mood tends to stay beautiful as the class Ttr rail tractor watches the wonder on its cousy siding of the roundhouse.

What are some of your favorite tales?

I find myself drawn to transformation tales of souls that become butterflies, snakes that become noble, and innocents that become birds.

"The dark and dull concrete of a 1960s Leicester landmark has been transformed by graffiti artists.

The six huge pillars supporting the Burley’s fly-over on the city’s inner ring road have become huge canvases and are now adorned with various different colourful designs - including trees, clouds, flowers and images of local landmarks.

The work has been commissioned by Leicester City Council to try to make the link between the city centre and The Golden Mile more attractive and has been carried out by street art specialists Graffwerk."

Webb is clearing up a space mystery!

Early in our cosmic history, gas in the universe shifted — over hundreds of millions of years — from opaque to transparent. Only when the gas became clear did light travel freely through the cosmos. But how did this change happen? Webb proves the answer lies in galaxies from the early universe.

Astronomers looked into galaxies so far away that their light took almost 13 billion years to reach us. That made these galaxies the perfect window into what the universe was like about 900 million years after the big bang, just before it became fully transparent.

Webb witnessed these galaxies heating up and ionizing the gas around them, turning their surrounding regions transparent. These transparent “bubbles” were about 2 million light-years in radius! Scientists believe the bubbles of transparency eventually grew and merged, creating a transparent universe. Learn more: www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2023/nasa-s-webb-proves-gala...

Image description: More than 20,000 tiny galaxies appear across the black background of space. The galaxy colors vary. Some of the smallest galaxies are shades of orange and pink. Most galaxies are so distant they appear as single points of light. Slightly larger, fuzzier galaxies appear whiter. Some have distinct spiral arms. In front of the galaxies are several foreground stars, though none appear larger than the largest galaxies. The foreground stars are scattered around the image, appear blue and have eight prominent diffraction spikes. At the center is a pink object with six diffraction spikes. This is quasar J0100+2802. It appears slightly smaller than the blue foreground stars.
