Here is one of my favorite places to be on a warm summer evening. This is the view from a balcony is looking north at the eastern leg of the Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City, Michigan. When the winds are calm, the shallow waters of the bay are as smooth as glass reflecting the colors in the sky as the sun sets in the west.
A long exposure from a couple of nights ago at Jange Ryn, Cornwall. Having used the film camera a lot recently it was refreshing to have the relative ease of shooting digitally! This was shot after sunset using the 80mm Hassy/Zeiss lens on a Hartblei tilt Adapter and 5D3.

I was quite pleased to see some sunshine today, after the gloom of last week, so I went for a stroll along the river. There was hardly a ripple to be seen, except those caused by the passage of one of my favourite water birds, a Great Crested Grebe.
A few moments later, he met up with his mate, just behind the tree on the right, and they actually performed part of their courtship dance, which is something I've always wanted to see. Unfortunately, I couldn't photograph it, as the tree was blocking a lot of the scene.

A Red Deer Stag awaits under his favourite Willow as the morning around him slowly wakes up, the extra hour in bed meant even the sun forgot to wake up on time...
It rained continuously the previous night but was extremely calm this eve. I was taking an evening walk when I encountered this pond so very still.
A bouquet of little lavender and deep purple buttons, serenely waiting under the trees. I love hydrangeas and this little beauty really made me smile.

I photographed this scene in the early morning light while visiting and touring the city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is an everyday scene in the city. Lovely to behold.
A thanks to my step sister Shani for modeling in this!

But now im sitting in a little cheap motel in the Florida Keys eating apple pie and editing photos from today! I have so many pictures in my mind for this trip and i really do hope that i come home with some by Saturday.
For Our Daily Challenge today, "tranquil".
This isn't quite what I wanted for tranquil - tonight's sunset was a bit too much of a colour explosion to be too tranquil!
This is SOOC - just a slight adjustment to straighten the horizon and a watermark.
My mom and I went to visit an old gaol today, as well as watch the sunset, so I have lots of photos to process, but I am tired now!

High tide and a beautiful day made for some lovely reflections in the harbour in Lower Town, Fishguard where the film Moby Dick was filmed back in 1956
The sunset reflects off a few clouds as a mild January day comes to an end over the Hudson River near Kingston, NY.

It's strange how you sometimes go out with a specific photo in mind, but then come back with a completely different photo... this was one of those occasions. The photo was taken on a pier at Victoria Dock in Caernarfon. The houses at the right of the photo are in Caernarfon, while the shore on the left of the photo is Anglesey.
