My first picture from Canada!

This is probably one of

my favorite Canada pictures.

I love this place.

Its so calm, and peaceful.

This one scene is SOO

beautiful, I take many pictures

of it every year I go.

a desirable state of being ~ you are consciously aware of the moment ~ you sense your mind, body and spirit ~ relax, recharge and revitalize ~ serenity ~ feel reconnected with the earth, higher power, your self ~ feelings of joy, harmony, peace and love ~ a simple concept ~ you recognize tranquility the moment it arrives.

We had a tranquil day bopping around the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge. Nikon D750 | ISO 50 | 24-70mm lens at 60mm | f / 22 | 1/6 second with a Singh-Ray polarizer and a 2 Stop ND Grad.

These little birds are so adorable and fun to collect because of their small size! <3

Have a good weekend!

Tranquility!

A tranquil morning at El Charco de San Gines in Arrecife. Probably about the only time I have been there in the early morning.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

*Leica M-P *Summicron 50mm f/2.0 DR

Believe it or not, this is part of an industrial park near where I work. I pass here every morning and have been wanting to get this shot for quite a while, but I never seem have enough time before work. Mornings is when it looks its best. The photo is mapped and you can see how it fits between the buildings on the satellite view.

A little rain to green up the grass would be nice. If we get it, I plan to take the shot again.

The veil of peace and tranquility in Laurie‘s garden can't be overstated. Around every corner you find another treasure and opportunity to reflect.

Bridged path over a tranquil pond...

On our way up to Duluth, MN for the weekend and we stopped to enjoy the view. Oh what a view it was.

East-West Center, Honolulu.

On the grounds of the East-West Center are a beautifully designed and maintained Japanese garden and tea house.

The E-W Center was established by the U.S. Congress in 1960 as an educational and research organization. It is located adjacent to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa campus in Honolulu.

We usually find that in a very quiet environment where nothing much happens, we are easily distracted and readily follow the direction of desires that arise within us.

We regard serenity in our lives as being dependent on the environment. We seem to think that tranquility comes to us when we place ourselves in a tranquil situation, but actually the reverse is true. It is the state of the heart and mind which determines how tranquil our surroundings can be. It is said that, "A calm heart makes a shaky hut stable".

Inner tranquility does not come easily and a person whose heart is filled with craving may stand by a deep, still pool and still feel his heart churning with desires. He may be in a lonely forest but unable to sense the stillness; while those who have relinquished all desires from their hearts may feel refreshed under the burning summer sun. They may live in the middle of the busiest city and not hear its noise.

These kind of thought leave me with other question in mind... What thoughts tend to block our awareness of serenity and tranquility?

I've been too busy for new snaps, so I decided to see what I was up to at about this time last year with the old Fuji Finepix... (before I came to Flickr!) ;-)

A carefree mind drifted into tranquility.

Calm waters. Made this photo while walking on this beautiful day of sunshine after so many rainy days.

This photo was shot in Oregon during winter.

Thank You God for a Lovely Day

Thank you God for a lovely day

For children's laughter while they play

And the simple things of this day.

Thank you God for the things unseen

That show us what this life can mean,

For the voices heard and the guiding hands,

For the comfort brought from far off lands.

Thank you God for the sight to see

The beauties here surrounding me,

For a glimpse into the world unseen

And a thought as to what this world might have been.

I pray Oh God as I patiently wait

For my turn to pass throu thy garden gate,

That my Spirit in my earthly shell

Has learned Life's lesson and progressed well,

That I carry in my heart no hate

I pray please God I am not too late.

So simple to just sit and relax and watch the incoming tide and the setting sun on a beautiful afternoon. Nothing beats the simplicity of watching life itself.

Shooting into the sunrise. Metered on the swan & set negative Ex Comp to kill blown highlights & in turn blacken the lake.

Thanks for viewing, very much appreciated.

Datun mountain at Taipei, Taiwan.

Flowing clouds with lights and the stars, it was the peaceful moment before the sunrise.

Tranquility - Brainard Lake. Brainard lake at 10k Ft elevation in Boulder, CO. The Brainard Lake Recreation Area is set in a glacially-carved valley. The high peaks of the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area loom to the west.

I went out to the Everglades National Park this weekend to check out the water levels at Pine Glades Lake. Needless to say that all the rocks are fully exposed. It was such a tranquil evening with no interruptions or skeeters. The sunset wasn't anything too fancy as they sky was pretty clear, but there is also beauty in simplicity I believe. I think mother nature blew this tree branch in the lake and I thought it would be interesting to include it in this shot.

3 exposures blended manually in Photoshop.
