#119 EXPLORE
Hi all,
I took this one this afternoon, about 4 miles from my house.
This one is the second in my HALCYON themed series, that I am putting together. I've spoken with some folks about having the completed series shown here locally. Won't know if it's a go until I get them all done and see what they think, of course, but I have my fingers crossed. Thanks again, to all.
Well, I hope you like this one, too.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jim
Looks better viewed large.
A tranquil and peaceful picture of the Nile river from Aswan west bank with migrating birds going south.
As the suns glow, paints the sky,
Hues of amber, rose, and violet sigh.
Waves gently whisper to the shore,
Each breath a melody, I so adore.
Golden sands embrace the fading light,
Reflecting dreams in the approaching night.
Colors dance, in a serene ballet,
Touching my heart, in a special way.
With every breath, my soul finds peace,
In this symphony of colors, worries cease.
Belonging blooms, in a sunsets glow,
The light of a love, that so few know.
Lost
I drove a hundred miles away on a rainy days hoping to shoot some dramatic sky along the coastline, as soon as the rain stops, I quickly find a suitable location to photograph, but only managed to get a few shots as rain falls again.

Drier weather has slowed the Flint River in Richfield County Park to its usual summer tranquility, to open September, 2024.
Tranquil: free from agitation of mind, disturbance or turmoil, steady, stable and calm.
A cool and quiet afternoon in the garden during the days of seasonal change between summer and autumn can be quit tranquil. It's my favorite time of visiting the Chinese garden closed to where I live.
Besides my leisure time here, the event of September 11, which reminds me even more in the deep meaning of tranquility.
In remembrance of Sept 11... and have a great weekend, friends !!!

I love this Chinese Garden within the somewhat stressful environment at University. This place is always so calm and quite, such a lovely place to find some peace.
The city is crowded
My friends are away and I'm on my own
It's too hot to handle
So I got to get up and go
It's a cruel, cruel summer
Leaving me here on my own
It's a cruel, cruel summer
Now you've gone
You're not the only one
It's a cruel, cruel summer
Leaving me here on my own
It's a cruel, cruel summer
Now you've gone

The Auburn Botanical Gardens in Sydney (NSW, Australia) will be holding the Cherry Blossom festival on the weekend of the 20th-21st August 2016. As the visitor numbers are expected to exceed 40,000 people, I decided to get in a day early to try and beat the crowds and see the flowers in bloom before the crowds. The gardens were still quite busy. This is a shot of the Japanese Garden area.
St. Leonard's church sits overlooking this pond in Hampshire and while I was there the amount of monster sized fish (carp) that I saw was incredible. Thrashing tails would break the surface occasionally and others would just glide by in plain view. I was very lucky tonight to get such good conditions for shooting even if it wasn't the most spectacular sunset there were some nice clouds to break up the sky and it was such a peaceful setting in the middle of the English countryside. I also had the great pleasure of meeting John, also a flickr user, and we had a chat for a little while as the sun finally disappeared from view. Good times.

Node-3 Tranquillity provides life-support for the International Space Station. Part of Tranquility is ESA's Cupola observation module, a seven-window dome-shaped structure from where the Space Station's robotic arm, Canadarm 2, is operated as it offers a panoramic view of space and Earth. Launched on Space Shuttle flight STS-130 in February 2010, Node-3 was attached to the port side of Node-1 Unity. Read more on ESA's Node-3 minisite

Very few things beat sitting at the beach on a warm summers afternoon, looking out over the beautiful Salish Sea. No whales today unfortunately but lots of other things to entertain.
When we are unable to find tranquility within ourselves, it is useless to seek it elsewhere.
