It is the Seaboard System scheme for the upcoming merger, but bearing the L&N reporting marks on the side of the cab in Family Lines System style.

On March 8, 1980, Dad shot O&W SD40-2 9953 (to BCOL 746) at Etowah, Tennessee.

The power, cars and caboose were all owned by Shamrock Coal Company and used to haul coal to power plants in South Carolina and south Georgia. The SD40-2s were built to L&N specs, and crewed by L&N or Clinchfield crews (later SBD crews). The power would eventually be sold to British Columbia Railroad.

The Benwood and Wheeling Connecting Railway Company was chartered January 20, 1900 and controlled by the National Tube Company. A short line railroad, it spanned just 3.08 miles, .79 being operated under lease of the B&O. "It's entire business is the interchanging of the freight traffic between the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway, the Wheeling Terminal Railway, the Pennsylvania Company and the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad; completing the transportation movement between these several railroads and the glass furnaces, steel works, rolling mills, tube works of the National Tube Company, coke yards of the Semet-Solvay Company and to the several industries located on the east bank of the Ohio River."

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, locally known as the "Toy Train", is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway that runs between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling (India). It is still operated by vintage British-built B Class steam locomotives. Operations between Siliguri and Kurseong have been temporarily suspended since 2010 following a Landslide at Tindharia (view photos of the landslide).
